Andy Martin says Donald Trump has scored a major “win” by “losing” Speaker Paul Ryan

Andy says Ryan and many of his naysayers had become excess baggage in the presidential campaign and a negative influence on Trump’s chances of winning

Andy says that the liberal media have become a “Trump lynch mob” and that Trump has now cleared the decks to win as an independent Republican

Andy says that based on Mark Kirk’s disastrous performance at a recent Chicago Tribune editorial board debate, Mark Kirk should “do the right thing” and withdraw as a candidate

(CHICAGO) (October 10, 2016) Andy Martin, the corruption-fighting independent Internet columnist and blogger with over a half-century of experience in national politics, will hold a Chicago news conference Monday, October 10th to explain why Donald Trump “wins” by “losing” Speaker Paul Ryan, and also to call on Mark Kirk to withdraw as a candidate.

“I have a longer analysis piece in progress,” Andy says. “But in view of the relentless media lynch mob directed at Donald Trump on Monday I wanted to explain today on an expedited basis how Donald Trump ‘wins’ by ‘losing’ Paul Ryan and how Trump is now free to refashion his campaign to serve the American people.

“I have nothing personal against Paul Ryan. He represents his district and he is elected by his colleagues. That’s fine. But Ryan was a dead weight for Trump and the national campaign.

“Ryan is the man who wanted to gut Medicare. Trump supports Medicare. Ryan is part of the lobbyist-industrial complex. For obvious reasons the lobbyist-industrial complex loathes Trump.

“There is nothing worse than false professions of party unity and personal piety emanating from Ryan and others. I wish Ryan the best. But his departure from the list of Trump’s ‘supporters’ is a major boon for Trump. Likewise, many of the other two-faced Republicans have benefited Trump by denying him.

“Trump’s biggest problem, apart from his colorful past, was that the Republican Party is massively unpopular with ordinary voters. Many Republican Party proposals are anti-consumer and anti-family, this from a party that professes to be pro-family. In the primaries, Trump won by de facto running against the party. He defeated all of the party’s favorites. He won by being a non-ideologue in an increasingly ideological political environment, both Democratic and Republican.

“I don’t agree with everything Trump says, but in my longer analysis I will explain why Trump’s ‘positions’ are immaterial, despite media demands for specificity. I will have more to say with my detailed analysis of why ‘Trump has already won the presidency and must now win the White House.’

“My own half-century of national political experience gives me an independent and ‘contrarian’ view of how skillful leaders can exploit cleavages even within their own ranks. By jettisoning Ryan, politely, Trump can now run as a man of no party who only seeks to serve the people. Trump can say that ideologues have abandoned him, and that Ryan’s departure is an endorsement of his independence. Ryan’s ‘support’ was always lukewarm at best. Ryan’s reliance on the ridiculous ‘sex tape’ as a pretext to withdraw his support of Trump is merely a pretext for ongoing, underlying discomfort related to differences on the real issues facing Americans.

“I don’t know if the Trump team is skillful and nimble enough to exploit Ryan’s departure but if they are, contrary to the latest media hysteria the departure of Paul Ryan and any fellow travelers will free Trump to win the White House. He has already won the presidency.

“The media have created a toxic environment and lynch mob atmosphere because the media is hardwired into Paul Ryan and the lobbyist-industrial-Clinton complex, not Donald Trump and the American people.”
