Martin says the claim by Kirk’s former wife that Kirk is controlled by a “Svengali” woman who destroyed his marriage is only a small sluice of the cascade of new information coming into the public domain in the days ahead. Kimberly Vertoli’s admission she was Kirk’s political partner, and that she is a pro-Obama hard-leftist, may doom Kirk as a candidate.
Martin says Kirk has a far worse sex scandal on his hands than Jack Ryan, who was forced off the Republican ticket in 2004 (for the same U. S. Senate seat). Martin continues to investigate and publicize and analyze the truth about Kirk. Martin’s presentation to Republican primary voters in February said Mark Kirk is unfit for public office and is a disgrace to every Illinois Republican. That’s still true. Kirk is a joke; his sexual shenanigans belong on Maury Povich, not in the U. S. Senate.

Let me start with a confession: Just over a year ago, in July 2009, I tried to tell Mark Kirk why he should not run for senator. I wrote a series of columns pointing out where we would be going. Even then we already had investigators fanning out and finding gaps in his military career. Although we made no disclosures at the time, we were serving Freedom of Information requests on federal agencies. We had all kinds of leads about Kirk’s personal life, and knew that the truth would eventually ooze to the surface. But in keeping with my “just the facts, ma’am” standard of accuracy, we kept digging for concrete evidence.
Later, in December, 2009 and January 2010 we devastated Kirk with facts and evidence. We loaded evidence from the Navy on our anti-Kirk web site, disclosing Kirk had never served in Afghanistan (hard evidence, go to www.markkirk.us). Ironically, some morons in the media said we were doing Kirk a favor by disclosing the truth about his secret life. Some favor. We ran ads drawing attention to “rumors” about Kirk’s homosexuality that were there to be heard on the Internet (hard evidence). We went back and researched the Mark Kirk-Dennis Hastert-Mark Foley connection (hard evidence). And, most devastatingly, we disclosed that Mark Kirk was a military fraud and imposer (hard evidence).
In keeping with the corrupt journalism at the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times, I was attacked for telling the truth about Kirk. Pat Brady, who until recently was protecting a predatory homosexual fiend in the Chicago Young Republicans, Jeremy Rose, attacked me for exposing Kirk (and no doubt for helping expose Rose). Rose in turn was linked to--no surprise here--Mark Kirk.
But dumb Illinois Republican voters were not in a mood to hear the truth before the primary. They told me “thanks but no thanks,” and insisted on nominating Kirk for the senate. Now they are paying the price. You can accuse me of sour grapes if you want, but I am not motivated by sour grapes. I am motivated by a passion for the facts and the truth.
Unless and until ordinary Republicans rise up and reject the slimy candidates promoted by crooks such as Pat Brady, the Bradys of politics will keep supporting garbage like Kirk for high office.
I also investigated Kirk’s “divorce” and his “marriage” to Kimberly Vertoli. Kirk’s unsuccessful marriage was not in itself an issue; all of us have problems with former spouses and girlfriends (or boyfriends). That’s life. But I do have over forty years of investigative experience, as well as family law knowledge (taught the course). I came to believe that the Kirk marriage was a sham. Knowingly or unknowingly, Kimberly Vertoli had been a “beard” for Kirk’s private life.
It is also true that former intimates and spouses can continue to be on friendly terms. I was surprised, however, when Vertoli appeared at Kirk’s senate announcement a year ago. She was too effusive, and too defensive, to be real. We continued investigating.
Wednesday Vertoli dropped the “McCracken” bomb on Kirk. Ironically I had just had a similar experience with a former female friend. In denying one transgression she had confessed to a separate offense. Reluctantly, I was compelled to address that miscreance. Kimberly Vertoli was caught in the same web of her own lies Wednesday.
Vertoli said she would have still been married to Kirk if it was no for the “Svengali” Debbie McCracken. Why didn’t Vertoli tell us the truth in August, 2009? Vertoli accused McCracken of destroying her marriage and was quoted as saying: “KV: I think that if Dodie McCracken had not continued to be in our lives, we probably would still be married.”
That’s a pretty strong accusation. There was no hint of “another woman” in August, 2009. What Vertoli perhaps did not realize is that in making a clean breast of her views this week, she was essentially repudiating everything she said in August, 2009 and branding her comments at Kirk’s announcement ceremony as nothing but a pack of lies.
Vertoli also disclosed “we decided together to run” (for Congress), thereby adding more weight to her claimed role in his early electoral career. Vertoli said that Kirk’s homosexuality was not “accurately explained” as homosexuality (more on that Friday, see below); that’s a Clintonesque denial.
Vertoli exposed herself this week as an extreme leftist who intends to vote for Barack Obama in 2012, is a militant supporter of gay rights and may even be a lesbian herself.
All of this brouhaha is happening in August, when there is traditionally little (dare I use the term) “hard” news, which naturally places “soft” news at a premium. Kirk was already unable to campaign, except in small downstate burgs, without being asked about his imaginary teaching career and imaginary military career. Now he has McCracken to explain as well; he also has to explain why his wife who supported him in 2009 no longer is planning to back him in 2010 (she says it’s because of Kirk’s lack of support for homosexuals).
Kirk should have listened to me. I had a better understanding of why he should not run than he did.
Please fasten your seat belts; the Kirkster’s sexual charades have a lot more to come in the way of truth-telling and fact-revealing. Remember that others claimed they had evidence of Kirk’s homosexuality, and that the Giannoulias camp all along had a “homosexual” campaign ready to run against Kirk in the summer of 2010 (those predictions were made others, and not by me, in December, 2009!)
Hint, hint: Andy plans to be at Republican Day of the State Fair to make Republicans listen to what they refused to acknowledge last year.
Ironically, Pat Brady and Mark Kirk could have avoided all of this tsouris. I warned Brady that if he ran a dirty campaign against me in support of Kirk, Brady and Kirk would pay. They ran a crooked primary, and they are paying for it. If they had run an honest election, I would have supported the winner.
Amazingly, you don’t hear any calls for Kirk to resign. Yet. That’s because he is part of the corrupt “Combine.” When Jack Ryan asked to have sex with his wife (his wife!!!), Judy Topinka had Ryan flushed away in days. In the Illinois Republican party, sex with your own wife is a no-no; homosexual activity is acceptable. And they wonder why they lose elections.
Illinois Republicans and Chicago’s corrupt media did not want to believe the truth about Kirk when it was revealed before the primary. Now they are being forced to listen to the truth and
the facts, and to watch Kirk’s career careen into oblivion.
