ANDY MARTIN CELEBRATES FORTY YEARS IN BROADCASTING

(WASHINGTON, DC)(March 24, 2008) Controversial Chicago-based Internet columnist and media critic Andy Martin will celebrate forty (40) years in broadcasting with a gala weekend March 28-30 in Washington, DC.

"Andy Martin began investigative analysis and commentary in the rice paddies of Viet-Nam and he has coursed through Congress, Baghdad and national politics in 2008," said John Hayes, Communications Director for ContrarianCommentary.com.

"Andy is always in the midst of controversy, because he gets the stories no one else sees or understands," said Hayes. "In Baghdad, he became the focal point of White House irritation when he was the first analyst to prophesy the downfall of Paul Bremer. His investigative commentaries on Barack Obama, including disclosures about Obama's religious roots and extensive relationship to Tony Rezko, have been years ahead of the 'mainstream media.' And he was at it 40 years ago, digging out unexpected truths in Viet-Nam, Laos and Cambodia. He is especially respected for his accurate and impartial analysis of Middle East matters.

"We don’t know if he is the most influential 'new media' columnist/editor in America, but he is certainly at the top of the list. Every day we meet the needs of a sophisticated worldwide audience for trend-setting analysis and commentary.

"In 1968 he became the youngest person ever authorized by the Federal Communications Commission to own and operate a TV station. Since 1968 he has been involved in all forms of television, radio, news, management, advertising and media development," Hayes noted.

Martin's activities will feature 40th anniversary news conferences at the Mayflower Hotel highlighting dramatic new revelations about Senator Barack Obama on Friday, a controversial news conference Saturday about events in Tibet, and attendance at a service of St. John's Episcopal Church.
