New Hampshire News Conference: Scott Brown faces attack ads from Republican U. S. Senate foe Andy Martin

New Hampshire U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin will hold a Manchester, NH news conference Friday, March 7th to preview his first attack ad against former Senator Scott Brown. “Mr. Brown has been acting as though the senate nomination is his by default,” Andy says. “But Brown is going to have to fight a rough primary. I will discuss the latest Suffolk University/Boston Herald poll results on Saturday. Friday morning we are producing the first attack ad of the 2014 senate primary campaign. Primaries are about sorting out who is real, and who is unreal. Brown’s recent antics are increasingly confirming he is ‘unreal’ as a New Hampshire candidate. Brown has name recognition but that is all he has. Nothing else. The Suffolk/Herald poll is also am embarrassment to the University of New Hampshire Survey Center that has been rigging its poll results to fit a ‘dirty’ agenda of the Union Leader. I promise New Hampshire voters a great primary, a primary focused on the big issues and the challenges facing our nation. But, as Foster’s Daily Democrat has confirmed (link below), they expect me to come out swinging, and I will. Friday’s new ad confirms that fact. We are calling Scott Brown’s bluff.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ANNOUNCEMENT OF MANCHESTER, NH NEWS CONFERENCE

ATTENTION NATIONAL, POLITICAL, NEW HAMPSHIRE DAYBOOK & ASSIGNMENT EDITORS

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin begins producing anti-Scott Brown radio commercials today

Andy promises a primary campaign focused on issues of concern to New Hampshire citizens, presented with a new intensity that has been lacking in previous Republican Party primary campaigns

(Manchester, NH) (March 7, 2014)

Dear Republican:

Friday afternoon I will hold a Manchester News conference to discuss my new attack ad challenging Scott Brown’s bona fides as a New Hampshire senate candidate.

The ad is being produced Friday morning and will start airing next week. It is the first attack ad of the 2014 senate primary, attacking Scott Brown for being a “faux” candidate.

In the past, New Hampshire Republican primaries have been sedate affairs. The result: Republicans have nominated sedate candidates who go on to lose to the brass-knuckled Democrats led by Ray Buckley.

Last year, in an interview with WMUR-TV, Ovide Lamontagne said he was surprised by the intensity of the Democrats’ personal attacks directed against him in 2012. He also said he didn’t know how to run against a woman. I do. Ovide was one of the finest persons ever to seek office; he just wasn’t the right fit for today’s rough-and-tumble politics. Ray Buckley’s rabid attack dogs slaughtered Lamontagne.

Whoever is nominated by the Republicans to face Shaheen will have to run the gauntlet of Buckley’s rabid mutts. The only question is who can stand up to the Democrats’ smears, and who can fight back against their attacks. Democrats will smear any Republican. But if “any Republican” does not fight back, Shaheen wins.

As a young law student, I started out fighting corruption in Illinois politics. Later I went on to help send corrupt judges to federal prison. Fighting the Chicago Crime Syndicate was scary. My life was threatened. But I never backed off. I fought back.

In 2004 I wrote the first article exposing Barack Obama as a fraud. Later, Obama’s thugs attacked me on national television. But I kept exposing and documenting Obama's unfitness for office.

Being in the national spotlight means you have been vetted; you have proven you can stand up to the liberal media's smear machine. I only wish people had listened to my evidence against Obama. Sadly, John McCain, who is a pretty good senator, was a lousy candidate for president.

What’s the bottom line? The only two prospective opponents for Jeanne Shaheen who have been tested at the national level are myself and Scott Brown. And Brown showed in Massachusetts he has what boxers call a “glass jaw.” As for Bob Smith, it’s a pity to see what remains of him, so I will avoid attacking Smith today. One look at him tells you Smith is not ready for the intensity of an anti-Shaheen campaign.

Obviously I am not as well known as Brown. That’s what primary campaigns are for. To expose candidates to the voters, and to preview different campaigning styles.

Now that Foster’s Daily Democrat has blown the cover on who is a tough campaigner, and who is not, by attacking me for a few humorous digs at Brown and Smith, New Hampshire liberals are scurrying for their foxholes.

Defeating Jeanne Shaheen is not going to be easy. Republicans who think she will be a pushover are delusional. That is why “reluctant candidate” Scott Brown’s refusal to start an early campaign and to devote full time to campaigning against a formidable incumbent shows he is not a serious opponent for Shaheen. Brown has become intoxicated by his own bloviation and by the adulation of some New Hampshire Republicans who are trying to recruit him to run. But Brown is a lover, not a fighter; and he has fallen in love with himself. That’s why Shaheen keeps goading Brown to run; she knows he is a doofus.

Well, Friday we will start calling Brown’s bluff.

As I will explain in a second news conference on Saturday, my attack ads are going to smoke out Brown and force him to come out of his own foxhole. When Democrats attacked Romney in 2012 and Mitt did not respond, Romney lost the edge and eventually lost the election. If I challenge Brown on radio and TV and he says and does nothing, he will be toast.

You have a ringside seat at what is going to be my effort to take down Brown, and then take down Shaheen. Once I send Brown to the showers Shaheen is going to know her time in Washington is over.

I hope you will keep an open mind and give me an opportunity to win your support. We must defeat Jeanne Shaheen in 2014 to defeat Barack Obama’s malignant agenda in 2015. Maybe you didn’t listen to me in 2004 and 2008; well, you got Obama. Please listen to me this time. Barack Obama is primed to destroy America as we know it in 2015. Obama knows his days in power are limited. He will try to implement his anti-American agenda, surrendering to foreign dictators and passing out welfare benefits to everybody and anybody. And if you let her, Shaheen will be there by his side as Obama’s most loyal acolyte in the Senate.

Loyally,

Andy

New Hampshire liberals declare war on U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin

New Hampshire U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin says New Hampshire liberals have finally discovered who can take on and defeat Jeanne Shaheen: Andy. In an editorial partly praising Andy and partly making typically fraudulent Democratic smears against him, Foster’s Daily Democrat declares Andy as one tough campaigner who will not shrink from the difficult job of attacking Jeanne Shaheen. Other Republicans have failed to defeat Shaheen. Discredited has-beens such as Scott Brown and Bob Smith are trying to make a comeback. Andy is the only candidate that scares Democrats. Andy is Granite State tough and battle-hardened by having led opposition to Barack Obama over the past ten years. Andy is the only Republican who promises a real slugfest to defeat Shaheen. No other Republican comes close to being a serious opponent for the liberal monarchy in New Hampshire politics.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin responds to Foster’s Daily Democrat attacks

Andy says New Hampshire liberals have finally discovered what Republicans have not, that Andy is the only senate candidate who promises a relentless attack on Jeanne Shaheen

Andy says if Republicans do not have the same stomach for battle that Democrats do, Shaheen will be reelected

(Manchester, NH) (March 6, 2014)

Dear Republican:

The 2014 Republican primary for U. S. Senate is over. Without realizing it, the liberal Democratic newspaper Foster’s Daily Democrat has spilled the beans.

The obvious implication of Foster’s editorial attacks on me are that if you want to reelect Jeanne Shaheen, you can vote for Scott Brown, Bob Smith and the other Republican retreads.

If you want to defeat Jeanne Shaheen, I am the man the liberals fear.

A couple of days ago you read a few humorous comments I wrote about my opponents. Not even remotely did my remarks constitute “gutter politics.” Gutter behavior is impugning someone’s loyalty, or trafficking in a sex scandal, or lying about an opponent. I merely saw the humor in my opponents. They take themselves very seriously, which is why New Hampshire Republicans keep losing.

Democrats called George Bush a Nazi, a Hitler and a murderer. Obama ran TV ads calling Mitt Romney a murderer. But Andy’s chiding of Scott Brown & Co. is “in the gutter.”

The real joke is on Republicans if they continue to consider Brown or Smith or the others as serious opponents for Shaheen. The liberals are going to come at them with vicious attacks, the same way they directed their lies at Mitt Romney. Remember Senator Harry Reid’s “no tax returns” attacks on Romney. Now that’s gutter politics. Foster’s didn't see Reid’s lies as being in the gutter. Foster’s loved the liberal lies against Romney.

Only one candidate can fight back and take on the Democrats. I have 48 years of experience in television, radio and hardball reform politics. Yes, I am an admitted fighter. That’s what Foster’s Daily Democrat is really scared of.

You can read their attack (see link below) and read my response:

Foster’s is a liberal newspaper and I accept that. But to equate what you call a few “smarmish” comments with “gutter politics” is so totally unreasonable as to be even more humorous than my own remarks. I enjoyed your editorial immensely because once you strip away your vitriolic attacks on me you admit I am what I say I am, a tough campaigner who can turn a phrase. I am not one of the Bob Smith/Scott Brown has-beens some Republicans want to run against Jeanne Shaheen. And I can laugh at the political process.

If Republicans want to defeat Shaheen, I’m ready. That is your real fear, isn’t it? If Republicans want to keep losing to New Hampshire Democrats, they have a menu of familiar zombie candidates to choose from.

The next time I am in your neighborhood I will deliver an official “Foster’s Daily Democrat bathing suit.” You might need it, just in case you get to Hades before I do!

Andy Martin

If you want to have any hope of defeating Shaheen you will need to have a standard bearer that is not afraid to attack her, the same way Shaheen’s backers are going to attack the Republican. Remember what Ovide Lamontagne said last year? He was surprised at the intensity of the Democrats’ attacks on him. After Lamontagne spent 16 years as a candidate (1996-2012)? How could Ovide be “surprised” at the intensity of the attacks Democrats unleashed on him?

If Republicans can’t stomach a tough battle then Shaheen wins, and Republicans can keep carping for another six years.

If you nominate me, Shaheen is in for the fight of her life. Remember what President Obama said about his style of politics, about the Democrats’ knives and guns? And, by the way, he won the White House twice as Republicans embarrassingly cratered.

Foster’s Democrat knows the stakes. Do you?

I humbly accept Foster’s endorsement as the Republican best qualified and most experienced to take on Jeanne Shaheen. Fasten your seat belts.

As always,

Andy

The Walking Dead: Political zombie Scott Brown haunts New Hampshire senate race

New Hampshire U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin says former
Massachuseets Senator Scott Brown is a “Walking Dead” political zombie. Andy says Brown’s comments to politico.com reflect Brown is living in a parallel universe where Brown is not seriously considering the responsibilities of running for office.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin says former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown is a “Walking Dead” political zombie in the Granite State

Andy says Brown’s remarks to politico.com show Brown making a fool of himself and reflecting extreme arrogance towards New Hampshire Republicans

Andy says Brown is increasingly a “zombie candidate” that cannot seriously challenge Jeanne Shaheen for reelection

(Manchester, NH) (March 5, 2014)

Dear Republican:

Massachusetts political zombie Scott Brown has been haunting the New Hampshire U. S. Senate primary like a disconnected episode of “The Walking Dead.” Is Scott Brown a “dead man walking?” That is my opinion. After reading the following remarks I invite you to decide for yourself.

1. Brown’s bizarre comments to Politico.com (links below)

Brown gave a bizarre interview to Politico.com on March 3rd. When asked if he was running for the senate from New Hampshire, Brown said he “would ‘probably’ make a decision before the June filing deadline.” What does that mean? The remark was so quirky that the Politico writer put “probably" in quotes. How do you “probably” decide by a filing deadline? If you do not decide by them, the decision is made for you by state law. The filing period closes.

Brown’s strange characterization of his decision timetable means one of two things. First, he has decided not to run and he will end his campaign charade before the filing deadline. Second, he has decided to run and does not feel pressed to organize and prepare for a serious campaign against a serious opponent.

Serious candidates for office plan ahead. They plan long in advance. They do not wait until the filing deadline to announce their intentions.

Last Memorial Day weekend I announced that I would challenge Jeanne Shaheen. At the time Shaheen seemed impregnable for reelection and no one else was bothering to put together a campaign against her.

I developed a plan of attack and have been executing the game plan since them. The only thing that has changed since last Memorial Day is that many Republicans now think Shaheen is a goner the same way they said Obama was a goner in 2011. Republicans often live in a dream world; a neighbor told me in 2011 that a “ham sandwich” could defeat Obama in 2012. The ham sandwich lost.

I have put a lot of serious thought into developing an approach to defeating Shaheen, and weighing my credentials for the job.

Brown is flippant about running against Shaheen. Scottie seems to live in a parallel universe, where what Scott wants, Scott gets. No questions asked. Tell that to Senator Elizabeth Warren. Brown could not win as an incumbent running against a neophyte candidate in 2012. Now he claims he can run as a challenger and sweep away a savvy incumbent.

Brown’s “attitude” and behavior are very strange for someone who says he is giving thought to running.

2. What was Brown doing on Capitol Hill on a day the place was closed?

Politico asked Brown was doing on Capitol Hill on a day a major snowstorm has closed the capital. Brown responded “Lots of different things.” When someone says they are doing “lots of things” and won’t identify any of them, something is amiss.

3. Sometimes the opposition tells the truth about us

I am running ads attacking Jeanne Shaheen. My ads are truthful.

In 2012, Brown was financed by big business interests. In 2013 ads supporting Brown were sponsored by the billionaire corporate welfare cheat Joe Ricketts, from Chicago. Does New Hampshire really want a Chicago-controlled U. S. Senator? Is it an attack to tell the truth about Brown?

In a few days I will start running attack ads against Brown. Is he going to say my ads are goading him to battle me in the primary? Brown seems to think that only the pro-Brown, Ricketts-paid ads that support him are truthful. In reality, Brown brings a lot of Massachusetts baggage with him to New Hampshire (more on that later in the week).

4. Brown has never faced a real primary election

Brown’s casual attitude about becoming a candidate for a serious office indicate he thinks the nomination is his for the asking. In addition to the three home-grown “zombies,” (Rubens, Testerman and Smith) I am in the race. No one who has ever faced me in court or in politics came away thinking I was a pushover.

I have a reputation as an experienced political infighter. Just ask Barack Obama. I made his life miserable in 2007 and 2008 when I exposed all of Obama's fraudulent claims. My research ignited a firestorm of hostile reporting about Obama. While no one can be exact, at the time I saw estimates that my writing could have cost Obama over 5 million votes.

When John McCain’s campaign imploded in 2008, I stepped up and fought Obama tooth and nail. In return, Obama’s thugs attacked me. Take a look at the links below.

I accused Obama of planning a “radical overthrow of the government.” Who would argue about that conclusion today? Is Obama a radical? (In 2011, Jennifer Horn went on the radio and attacked me for exposing Obama. She has never apologized for her infamous attack on me.) So when I say I have a plan, and am making preparations to attack Shaheen, I have a proven track record at both the statewide and national level of doing just that. What about “Zombie” Brown or the other local zombies? Not so much. Who do you want leading the attack on Shaheen. Me? Or one of the four zombies?

5. Will Brown take the New Hampshire Republican Party leadership down with him?

Brown may not run. Or he may run and lose. I seriously doubt he can defeat Shaheen. Brown has more baggage than Shaheen, and she has proven to be a more skillful politician. So if Brown loses, what happens to the New Hampshire Republican Party “leadership” that has relentlessly and shamelessly promoted Brown? Will Brown take down these local “leaders” with him? It would appear so.

In conclusion, you can agree with me, or disagree with me. We can have honest differences. But my ideas and views are out there for you to criticize or endorse. I am thinking seriously about the race, was the first to announce as a candidate and I have a rational game plan to attack and defeat Shaheen. Unlike Brown I don’t think Shaheen is just going to wilt and collapse. I actually have anti-Obama, anti-Shaheen credentials to run against Shaheen. Brown doesn’t. He is just a Massachusetts political zombie who wandered into New Hampshire and decided he should be brought back to life as a U.S. Senator from this state. The Walking Dead.

New York News Conference: Senate candidate Andy Martin slams Scott Brown Ukraine “surrender strategy”

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin will hold a New York City news conference today, Monday, March 3rd to energize Republicans in support of a strong Reagan-style foreign policy. Andy will also attack liberal media and former senator Scott Brown. “One New Hampshire liberal media type told me he thinks the Ukraine crisis is a joke,” Andy says. “Vladimir Putin’s agenda is not a joke. He must be stopped. Putin is trying to build a new Iron Curtain. Those of us who confronted the Soviet Empire during the Cold War know that fear and retreat are not a solution. Republicans such as Scott Brown do not favor the ‘peace through strength’ policies of President Reagan that helped bring down communism. Putin wants to rebuild the Evil Empire. He must be stopped. The liberal media who are trying to hijack the New Hampshire Republican Party by supporting Scott Brown must also be stopped. Brown’s comments on Fox News Sunday show he endorses a ‘Brown-Obama-Shaheen surrender strategy,’” Andy charges.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW YORK CITY NEWS CONFERENCE

ATTENTION NATIONAL, NEW YORK CITY, NEW HAMPSHIRE DAYBOOK & ASSIGNMENT EDITORS

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin asks the Obama administration to begin an airlift of military supplies to the Ukrainian government

Andy says New Hampshire voters must reject the “Brown-Obama-Shaheen surrender strategy”

Andy, a leading Obama opponent, says “Barack Obama is ‘all words;’ now Fox News’ faux New Hampshire Republican Scott Brown has joined Obama’s vapid rhetoric”

Andy is a Cold War expert; he previously sought the release of Yulia Tymoshenko, the recently-freed Ukrainian leader

(Manchester, NH) (March 3, 2014) New Hampshire Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference today, Monday, March 3rd to demand that the Obama administration take strong action against Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Andy will also “sounding a warning bell” about liberal Republican pretender Scott Brown’s “surrender” strategy,” which Andy calls a “Brown-Obama-Shaheen foreign policy.”

Andy asks that President Obama take muscular military and economic action to shut down Russia’s access to the west, including: [1] canceling all visas of Russian citizens in the United States; [2] suspending any new visas for Russian citizens; [3] seizing all Russian-related property of Vladimir Putin’s cronies in the United States, including multi-million dollar condos; and [4] offering, if requested, to immediately airlift military equipment and supplies to Ukraine.

“It is a truism that those who choose to forget history are doomed to repeat it,” Andy says. “No people suffered more under the Soviet Union than the Ukrainians. I grew up supporting freedom for ‘captive nations,’ first among them being Ukraine. Tens of millions of Ukrainians were slaughtered by Soviet dictator Stalin.

“Today, liberal Massachusetts-New Hampshire Republican Scott Brown wants to respect a revivified Soviet Union and consign Ukrainians to another era of Soviet-style persecution. Scott Brown’s foreign policy is Barack Obama’s foreign policy. Brown’s foreign policy is Jeanne Shaheen’s foreign policy. New Hampshire Republicans must reject the ‘Brown-Obama-Shaheen surrender strategy’ in the Ukraine crisis.

“In 1946 Winston Churchill foresaw an ‘Iron Curtain’ in Europe. It took 43 years to tear down that Curtain. It took President Reagan’s memorable words to Soviet dictator Gorbachev: ‘Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.’ Reagan was attacked by the liberal media. But Reagan was right! Earlier today I received the first jeer from a liberal New Hampshire journalist. His newspaper supports ‘Surrender and Brown.’ Anti-Reaganism is alive and well among New Hampshire’s liberal media.

“Sunday Brown made the hand-wringing claim on Fox News Sunday that ‘there is no military option’ for Ukraine. There are many military options short of landing U. S. troops. If requested, we can create an airborne pipeline of military supplies for Ukrainian troops to use. We can provide Ukrainian leaders with our best surveillance and intelligence. We can send Ukrainian-American volunteers to help train the Ukrainian military.

“Ironically, many of the Ukrainians in the U.S. today come from Eastern Ukraine. They are the ‘ethnic Russians’ we hear so much about. They escaped crippling poverty and a hopeless future under communism. Under Vladimir Putin’s future plans for Ukraine, 46 million Ukrainians would be reduced to slaves and hostages. Putin abhors freedom and democracy, much like the liberal elites in the Democratic Party and some Republicans such as Scott Brown.

“Surrender to Putin is not an option. Acquiescence in the invasion of Ukraine will lead to more invasions. Putin must be stopped dead and removed from power. George W. Bush went ‘wobbly’ when Putin invaded Georgia. Putin’s troops are violating cease-fire accords; part of Georgia is still occupied. George W. Bush’s will failed.

“Those of us who love freedom, which includes almost all Republicans excluding Scott Brown-types, and also includes very many loyal Democrats, cannot allow a ‘Brown-Obama-Shaheen surrender strategy’ to determine our policy towards the invasion of Ukraine.

“There is no running from Putin; there is no escape. Putin can only be removed and prosecuted as a war criminal. Russians had ‘one man-one vote.’ And then Putin imposed ‘one man-one vote-one time.’ Today the ordinary Russian people are enslaved, while Putin’s cronies, the Oligarchs, purchase hundred million dollar apartments in New York. We must shut down Putin’s oligarchs’ access to America; they will get the message. Leave Ukraine, or leave the United States.

“The only way to avoid a hot war is to fight a limited new ‘Cold War’ until Putin is removed from power.

“Republicans such as Scott Brown who want to surrender to Putin’s military power grab, and who claim there is ‘no military option,’ are endangering the national security of the United States. U.S. ‘boots on the ground?’ Absolutely unnecessary. American military support for the people of Ukraine? Priceless.”

Andy previously demonstrated for the release of formerly imprisoned Ukrainian leader Yulia Tymoshenko. He has been a strong supporter of Ukrainian independence since the fall of the Soviet Union. Andy is a strong supporter of President Ronald Reagan’s “peace through strength” guiding principles (see links below). Andy believes Democrat Jimmy Carter’s weakness led to the Iran hostage crisis; Reagan’s “peace through strength” brought the hostages home. Andy is committed to exposing and defeating Scott Brown in the 2014 New Hampshire U.S. Senate primary.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin pounces on Massachusetts airhead Scott Brown’s surrender of Ukraine to Vladimir Putin

Andy says Brown is espousing an “Obama-Brown-Shaheen foreign policy”

Andy says Brown and Putin have something in common; both men like to sashay around half naked

Andy is a Cold War expert and previously sought the release of Yulia Tymoshenko, the formerly imprisoned Ukrainian leader

(Manchester, NH) (March 3, 2014)

Dear Republican:

Massachusetts airhead Scott brown, who has been trying to float into New Hampshire, showed Sunday that Brown has more in common with fellow nudist Vladimir Putin that he has with New Hampshire’s citizens. It is time for rational Granite Staters to start asking why some Republican “leaders” are trying to promote the Massachusetts reject as a New Hampshire senate candidate.

Brown is paid well by Fox News to be a commentator. But Brown’s Fox News blabbering also exposes his lack of any serious foreign policy credentials. On “Fox News Sunday” Brown surrendered besieged Ukraine to fellow nudist Vladimir Putin by stating “there is no military option.”  Barack Obama could not have delivered Brown’s lines better.

There is one goal that Brown has accomplished in New Hampshire. Brown makes sadly-addled, Florida tanned Bob Smith look like a deep thinker by comparison.

But if Brown wants to campaign on Barack Obama’s foreign policy, he should run as a Democrat against Jeanne Shaheen, not as a Republican. Republicans do not favor a surrender to the Russian leader. I support President Reagan’s foreign policy of peace through strength.

What Brown and Putin have in common is that both me like to run around semi-clad. Brown was recently seen in a bathing suit during frigid weather at the beach. It’s a free country and people have a constitutional right to run around Hampton Beach in a bathing suit during frigid weather. But what does Brown’s behavior say about his judgment?

As someone who has deep experience with foreign policy I monitored Putin's former Ukrainian stooge Yanukovich, who was using Putinesque tactics to eliminate democracy. After Yulia Tymoshenko conducted a free election and Yanukovich won, he returned the favor by jailing Tymoshenko on trumped-up charges. I fought for Tymoshenko’s freedom.

Let me be clear. Tymoshenko was and is no Sunday school teacher. She was a ruthless practitioner of the smash-mouth politics and money grubbing that accompanied the fall of the Soviet Empire. But for all her faults, Tymoshenko helped conduct a relatively free and fair election. Since taking power Yanukovich has been trying to implant a Putin-style dictatorship in Ukraine. He started by jailing his former opponent Tymoshenko.

In the past few days Putin has succeeded in confusing Scott Brown, someone with no foreign policy credentials, by convincing Brown that that America has no military options. Monday I will hold a second New York news conference to outline American options to help Ukrainian officials.

Because Brown speaks in simplistic terms it is not clear that he even understands what a “military option” is. The use of military power is not confined to landing troops. There is no need for U.S. boots on the ground in Ukraine. The Ukrainians are ready for fight for their own freedom (links below). We can and should offer military aid to the Ukrainian government.

Under both the Budapest Memorandum and the U.N. Charter we have every right and a treaty-based responsibility to respond to a request for military supplies from Ukraine.

Just hours before Putin invaded Ukraine last week, Barack Obama proposed a defense budget that aimed to dismantle America’s fighting forces with ruinous budget cuts. Defense Secretary Hagel said we were cutting forces and increasing risks. I for one do not believe we should increase the dangers our men and women confront. Why would any president increase the risks faced by our men and women in uniform? We should be trying to enhance our forces to reduce risks.

For the past several months Scott Brown has been the sweetheart of the liberal media. They love the idea that a jerk like Brown would defeat New Hampshire Republicans in a primary and then stage a liberal-to-liberal election next November where Shaheen is reelected. Contrary to what liberal media claim, Brown cannot defeat Shaheen. That is why Shaheen so badly wants Brown to run. Brown is Shaheen’s only guarantee of reelection.

Of course, now that Brown has endorsed Barack Obama’s foreign policy, and stated we have no military options in Ukraine, echoing the Obama-Shaheen policy, Brown’s true colors have been exposed for New Hampshire conservatives to see.

Watch for our news conference Monday (today).

Later in the week we are going to “declare war” on Brown. I don’t need a “military option.” The truth about Scott Brown’s liberal agenda and Massachusetts shenanigans is explosive enough for the upcoming primary. Brown has never faced an experienced primary opponent.

Don't be fooled by the false prophets in the New Hampshire Republican Party who are promoting Brown. They are the same people who have lost to the Democrats year after year and decade after decade. Fasten your seat belts for a real primary campaign this summer. We may even chase Brown back to Massachusetts. Where he belongs.

And, as a final gesture, avoid the by-now overdone “thank you for your service” and instead ask a real question. Stop a New Hampshire veteran and ask him or her what they think of Brown’s surrender of Ukraine to Vladimir Putin. Get a veteran’s opinion of what the Obama-Brown-Shaheen policy means for America’s future. Ask a veteran whether Scott Brown makes America stronger. Or weaker. And then ask yourself why any Republican “leader” would promote Brown’s candidacy.
