Andy Martin holds Chicago news conference Friday, September 19th to state Mark Kirk is unfit for reelection

Independent Republican Party activist Andy Martin and his new political action team, Coalition for America, will hold a Chicago news conference Friday, September 19th detailing why Mark Kirk is unfit for reelection. Andy catalogs all of Kirk’s current false claims and continuing efforts at stolen valor even after Kirk was exposed as a military fraud in 2010. Andy also demands that Kirk disclose all of the alias’ he has used in addition to “Hillel Underwood” and where he has used them. Andy also questions whether a reputed closeted gay male can be elected in light of the changed social climate and acceptance of same-sex marriage. Andy says Mark Kirk is not electable in 2016 and was only elected in 2010 because Democrats nominated a mobbed-up “banker” with Crime Syndicate links as their candidate.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Announcement of Chicago news conference Tuesday

Attention national and Chicago daybook/assignment editors

Andy Martin calls on Mark Kirk to stop seeking reelection in 2016

Andy says that even after Kirk’s 2010 military scandals Kirk continues to lie on his U. S. Senate web page and lie to Chicago media about the details of his military service

Andy says Kirk’s entire public career has been “a series of lies”

(CHICAGO) (September 19, 2014) Independent Republican activist Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference today, Friday, September 19th, to document why Senator Mark Kirk is unfit for reelection and should not be fundraising using Michelle Obama’s name.

“Mark Kirk is a disgrace to the Republican Party,” Andy charges. “I have written to Senator Kirk and asked him to step down when his current term expires. All of the claims I make in the letter, which follows below, are documented by a series of links at the bottom of this article. Even after his 2010 scandals, Kirk continues to lie on his senate web page that he has “deployed” on active duty service when DOD regulations (links below) prohibit such a false claim.

“The accusations by gay activist Mike Rogers that Kirk is a closeted homosexual are still on Rogers’ web page.

“All in all Kirk’s entire public life has been a total and complete fraud and he should step down so that the party can begin to choose a replacement.”

Letter to Kirk (without Coalition for America letterhead):

September 19, 2014

Senator Mark Kirk
United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator Kirk:

“There you go again!”

I find that you are again blatantly misrepresenting and inflating your military record. In addition, there are personal issues that make it obscene for you to be fundraising for reelection using the name of Michelle Obama. For the good of the Republican Party you should announce that you are not running for reelection so that the party can begin the selection process for your replacement now.

1. Misrepresenting your military record

I began investigating your false military record in 2009, see letter posted at www.MarkKirk.us. Later you went on to describe for Chicago media imaginary battles in Afghanistan in which you participated. I documented your fraudulent activity during January, 2010 but the local media preferred to engage in a cover-up until the Chicago cover-up was exposed by the Washington Post in June, 2010. The Washington Monthly stopped at a running total of nine (9) military lies by you in 2010, see  http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2010_06/024259.php

There is an extensive paper trail, starting with my post at www.MarkKirk.us detailing that you never “deployed” to Afghanistan and your activity as a military person was circumscribed by DOD regulations placing you in the inactive reserve, see: http://capitolfax.com/32790881-Mark-Kirk-Waiver.pdf

Despite the fact that you have repeatedly been exposed for stolen valor you continue to publish, today, in 2014, the false claim that you “deployed” to Afghanistan on your senate web page: http://www.kirk.senate.gov/?p=press_kit and to make the same false clam to Chicago media:  http://www.suntimes.com/7501538-417/kirk-stop-aid-to-pakistan.html#.VBv5vSuHiME

After being caught lying to the Chicago Sun-Times before the 2010 election, even after the election scandal you continued to lie to that newspaper and the Sun-Times continues to falsely report that you were “deployed” to Afghanistan: http://www.suntimes.com/7501538-417/kirk-stop-aid-to-pakistan.html#.VBv5vSuHiME

In short, you have utter contempt for the truth, utter contempt for stolen valor and very possibly a serious psychological and/or psychiatric difficulty that makes you a compulsive liar.

You were elected in 2010 because the Democrats chose to run a Mobbed-up, Crime Syndicate-linked “banker” as your opponent. I seriously doubt you will be so lucky next time. Trying to fund raise off the possible candidacy of Michelle Obama is thus gross and obscene.

2. Your use of false names and alias’

You registered at a hospital under a false name (Hillel Underwood). That may be a violation of federal law. Although you tried to claim that a Senate employee encouraged you to do so, a search of senate records and rules provides no justification for the claim that the Senate’s employees encourage false hospital registrations or the use of alias’ in medical or any other matters. I would ask that you disclose all of the alias’ you have used and where you have used them since 2000.

3. The allegations of your homosexuality continue in a changed climate for gay acceptance

To be clear at the outset, I have never accused you of homosexual behavior and I do not do so at this time. In 2009-2010 I merely pointed to allegations of your homosexual activity posted by your Lake County neighbors, the late Col. Ray True and the late Jack Roeser. I have no personal knowledge of your homosexual status vel non.

I was attacked by the completely mendacious Chicago media for truthfully drawing attention to public postings accusing you of being homosexual.

Subsequently, a gay activist posted a detailed exposition of your status as a homosexual, based on his personal knowledge and investigation and based on meeting you personally, see http://www.blogactive.com/?p=1567

Once again, I merely draw attention to what is posted on the Internet. When you voted against repeal of DADT the gay community attacked you for hypocrisy, which was also the basis for Mike Rogers’ outing. My guess is that if you continue to remain closeted, you will again be attacked for the fact of being closeted.

Since 2010 there has been a sea change in how Americans view homosexuality. In neighboring Wisconsin, an openly lesbian senator has been elected as your colleague. Same-sex marriage has gained widespread acceptance. In other words, society has generally moved from a gays-as-closeted attitude to an open acceptance of homosexuals in public life.

There is strong opposition within the politically active gay community to closeted males who deny their sexuality. While the matter has yet to be tested in 2016, if you run for reelection I am relatively certain you will face opposition from gay activists for remaining closeted in the current environment of acceptance.

All in all your pretensions to reelection are an embarrassment to the Republican Party. Instead of acting as a faux candidate and seeking to raise cash off Michelle Obama, why not do the right thing and retire at the end of your term so the party may begin a search for your replacement now.

Respectfully submitted,

ANDY MARTIN

Chicago news conference Tuesday: Andy Martin condemns Obama for sending 3000 American military personnel to fight Ebola

Contrarian Commentary editor Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference Tuesday evening to condemn President Barack Obama for sending thousands of U. S. military and civilian personnel to Africa to be exposed to the Ebola virus. “We can’t even contain a children’s’ viral outbreak in the Midwest,” Andy says, “and we are going to rescue Africa from Ebola? I hate to sound a dissenting note but Obama’s plan to use the American military as guinea pigs in the battle against Ebola is absolute insanity. The US can and should offer measured help. But exposing thousands of Americans to Ebola is not a rational response to Africa's failure to take care of its own people.”

Andy Martin slams President Barack Obama for sending thousands of U.S. military and civilian personnel to Africa to fight Ebola

Andy says it is inevitable that Americans will be exposed to Ebola on a massive scale, and that a domestic Ebola crisis could be triggered by Obama’s illogical scheme here at home

Andy says Obama is using US troops as guinea pigs by unnecessarily exposing them to the lethal Ebola virus

(CHICAGO) (September 16, 2014) Contrarian Commentary editor Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference today, Tuesday evening, September 16th, to condemn President Barack Obama’s plan to send 3,000 U.S. military personnel to Africa to fight the Ebola virus. “Obama is using our solders and civilian personnel as guinea pigs,” Andy charges. “No western nation has ever willingly placed thousands of its citizens in harm’s way of a killer virus. In the Midwest, authorities currently have been unable to contain a children’s’ virus and the contagion is spreading to other states.

“How are we going to save several African countries from their own mismanagement of public health resources? When does Africa assume responsibility for itself? Obama’s plan is utter insanity.

“To date the US has avoided infection with Ebola at home because of the small number of volunteer Americans who are fighting the disease overseas. But even with just three or four cases, a massive mobilization was necessary to evacuate Americans who became infected. If Obama exposes thousands (and then more thousands through rotation) of our military and civilian employees to this killer virus how can we avoid massive exposure to Ebola? What if something goes wrong and we suddenly have 100 Ebola patients, or more?

“Some people have criticized China for being silent. China, of course, is notorious for abysmal public health management. But China is seeking to exploit Africa’s mineral resources and also seeking to take a leading role in managing African economic development. Why isn’t China sending thousands of its own citizens to be exposed to Ebola?

“Obama has been widely praised by public health activists for his plan to expose the American military to Ebola infection. But we elected a president to protect the national security of the United States, not to be a do-gooder and expose our nation to a potential Ebola epidemic here at home. Obama should be erring on the side of caution but instead he is throwing caution to the winds.

“Is Obama deliberately trying to spread the Ebola epidemic to the United states? Obama’s behavior is dangerous, high risk, unnecessary and potentially devastating to our troops and ordinary American citizens.

“By all means let’s send medical aid and supplies to Africa. I support that effort. But let us use volunteer agencies to distribute and manage the aid, not soldiers. When did our volunteer Army volunteer to be exposed to a lethal viral epidemic? Obama’s action could jeopardize military enlistments.

“Thirty years ago during the early stages of the AIDS epidemic I was friendly with someone who became an AIDS patient. Later I visited my friend in the hospital. No one really knew how the virus was transmitted. But when I saw the red quarantine sign on the door I knew I was voluntarily exposing myself to something partially unknown. My friend and I knew each other through Episcopal Church theology school. I said a prayer and took the chance. I made a choice to take the risk.

“But no one is asking our military to volunteer for the Ebola expedition. They are being ordered into harm’s way. Obama is misusing the military. Obama is dispatching troops to Africa at a time when he is firing tens of thousands of experienced officers and enlisted men and shrinking the Army to pre-World War II size. Is this another phase of his scheme to disarm America? How can we say we don’t have enough military for military missions but we have enough military for Ebola missions?

“Will no one stop Obama from endangering America?” Andy demands.

Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference Tuesday to criticize Senator Rob Portman for not supporting Jim Oberweis

Independent Republican Party activist Andy Martin launches a new political action team, Coalition for America, with a Chicago news conference questioning why Senate Republicans in Washington are not conducting a “50-state strategy” to take control of the senate. Andy criticizes Senator Rob Portman for appearing disconnected about Jim Oberweis’ Illinois U. S. Senate campaign.

Andy Martin slams Senator Rob Portman for undermining Jim Oberweis’ U. S. Senate campaign

Andy says that due to the conflicting polls, “Washington Republicans” should not write off the Illinois senate race

Andy says Jim Oberweis deserves support from national as well as Illinois Republicans

(CHICAGO) (September 16, 2014) Independent Republican activist Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference today, Tuesday, September 16th, to demand that Senator Rob Portman apologize for minimizing Jim Oberweis’ U. S. Senate campaign.

“In a recent interview Senator Portman appeared lackadaisical and disconnected from the senate races, which only number 33 nationally,” Andy charges. “If he can’t be more focused, why is he acting as vice chairman of a ‘Campaign Committee?’

“I explain my concerns about Senator Portman’s conduct in my letter to him, which follows. The Chicago Tribune has published a poll showing Senator Dick Durbin ahead. Other polls have shown Jim Oberweis within 7 points of Durbin. It is precisely because of the ‘fog of politics’ that Senator Portman should not be undermining Jim Oberweis’ campaign and should be applying a 50-state strategy to taking control of the U. S. Senate.

“My independent Republican team will be working to elect Republicans everywhere across the USA.”

Text of Andy Martin’s letter to Senator Rob Portman (without masthead):

September 13, 2014

Hon. Rob Portman
United States Senator
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator Portman:

I am writing to criticize your comments to the media in your capacity as a member of the National Republican Senatorial Committee concerning the Illinois U. S. Senate race.

The Coalition for America is an independent Republican Party political action team that grew out of efforts (Romney’s Rangers) to support Mitt Romney when he ran for president two years ago.

As the individual who first warned about the dangers that then-state senator Barack Obama posed for America in 2004, long before the Republican Party capitulated to Obama in 2008, I have a long track record of making accurate political prognostications and standing up for public integrity.

In my opinion the Republican Party’s platform should consist of six words: Public Integrity; National Security; Economic Prosperity. The rest is surplusage. Jim Oberweis supports a safe and strong America and a strong economy.

Your refusal to support Oberweis and your apparent lack of familiarity about one of only a handful of U. S. Senate races (1/3 of the senate is up every two years) is disturbing.

Illinois has been a “Blue” state due to the incompetence and corruption of the local Illinois Republican Party. Mr. Oberweis is neither. He is a successful businessman and so far as I am aware he built his business honestly. No candidate is perfect and I know that Mr. Oberweis is not perfect. Like all hyper-successful people he can be difficult at times. But he is running a capable campaign and he does not deserve to be thrown under the bus with a “Washington” attitude.

I am not a friend of Mr. Oberweis and he did not ask me to send this letter. I have met him during the course of political campaigns. Nevertheless, because it is always difficult to recruit good candidates in Blue states I fail to see why you are not providing at least some financial support and enthusiastic verbal support to Oberweis. By claiming you are not familiar with the race and by being negative about supporting a hard-working candidate you undermine the national Republican effort.

If the Republican Party is to rebuild and to become both an Illinois and a national force, you must of necessity pursue what Gov. Howard Dean once called the “Fifty State Strategy.” Every state counts. (Obama also pursued a 50-state approach.)

Although I now reside in New Hampshire I continue to closely follow matters both in Illinois where my anticorruption efforts continue and nationally as the CFA letterhead reflects.

I would urge you to send some money to Mr. Oberweis and to apologize for your error in judgment in undermining his campaign. Your noncommittal remarks have a corrosive impact nationally; they do not reflect that the Republican Party has learned any lessons from its past failures.

At a minimum Jim is forcing Dick Durbin to defend his seat and to direct resources to Illinois that Democrats might prefer to assign to other races. And Jim could win! It is about time Illinoisans got rid of Durbin; voters should be are tried of him. Illinois is a mess and Durbin is a contributing factor.

Respectfully submitted,

ANDY MARTIN
