Martin calls Obama’s Chrysler/UAW bailout proposal “stealing,” and says rewarding the UAW for destroying the automobile industry is like handing out cash rewards to bank robbers. Martin calls Obama’s bankruptcy plan “delusional” and says it was drafted by a Wall Street influence peddler, Steve Ratner, and a failed Wall Street overseer, Tim Geithner.

“There is a word for what Obama is doing: stealing. Obama wants to steal from some creditors, which creditors in turn are owned by and owe a fiduciary duty to other pension funds and small shareholders, to reward the UAW. The UAW helped engineer the destruction of the auto industry. Why reward the UAW for utter and complete failure and for the union’s contempt for the laws of economics? Jobs bank, anyone?

“Let me be clear, there is no such thing as a ‘surgical’ bankruptcy. Barack Obama is, once again, demonstrating his lack of competence and experience as an attorney when he tells the public Chrysler can be restructured in 30 or 60 days. That is delusional. Obama is similarly dreaming when he says a Section 363 sale can easily sail through the courts without opposition.

“Unlike politicians and presidential candidates, who can promise the moon and lie through their teeth, courts actually have to obey the Constitution and provide due process to all interested parties, and not just bow down to the emperor Obama. Due process can’t be served up on a skillet.

“I don’t know yet whether the Department of Justice will petition a federal district court to withdraw jurisdiction from a bankruptcy judge; but if a bankruptcy judge assumes the case, it will take time to organize the proceeding before any progress can be made.

“This ‘bankruptcy’ is going to leave a foul taste in the mouths of American workers who are being robbed to reward the UAW. Why favor one family over another? Why one worker over another? Are the UAW’s political contributions a reason to discriminate? The UAW is bragging that its past bribery of politicians will now allow it to steal from other worker retirement plans to maintain the unsustainable benefits it received in another era. That’s what Obama is really doing, and no one wants to inform the public. He is robbing from other state and city workers, from anyone and everyone who has pension benefits which are invested by third parties. Obama wants to take “other peoples’ money,” and turn the stolen money over to the UAW on a silver platter as payback for the UAW’s past history of political contributions.

“Barack Obama is stealing from the American people to reward the UAW. It’s disgraceful.

“I expect creditors to fight Obama’s takeover and giveaway. The process will drag on a lot longer than people now anticipate. It is a sad day for the American people when their president, who is supposed to represent all of us, is picking his political contributors and supporters to reward, and screwing the rest of the nation by stealing our retirement savings. Hugo Chavez and Barack Obama? Perfect together,” Martin says.

(NEW YORK)(April 30, 2009) As this column is written, it appears Chrysler Corporation will file for bankruptcy. But whether Chrysler formally files or not, Obama is in the process of destroying the American automobile industry. In his own words, Obama is harking back to the Viet-Nam era refrain, “we had to destroy [the auto industry] to save it.”

First, full disclosure: my family owns two (2) Chrysler products. I will go to bed tonight and sleep like a baby, confident that the vehicles will endure, be serviced and have parts available to the end of their useful lives. Chrysler will endure, in spite of and not because of Obama’s bailout of the UAW.

Second, if anyone can be deemed a prophet of the auto industry’s demise, sadly it is me. Back in 2005 I predicted the auto bankruptcies. Again last fall I said bankruptcy was inevitable:

Obama’s latest machinations have been styled as a “bailout” of the automobile industry. Far from it. Obama is really bailing out the United Auto Workers and, in the process, ensuring the demise of the UAW.

Are you listening UAW members?

Here is Obama’s plan in a nutshell: Chrysler ownership would be transferred to a UAW “pension plan,” with the plan receiving 55% ownership and control. Fiat, an Italian auto maker, would receive up to 35% and the US Government would get 8%. In this “assemblage” going to be able to run a complex manufacturing enterprise? Highly unlikely.

Excuse me, but wasn’t it the UAW’s excessive pensions and benefits that contributed to the demise of the auto industry? Is the UAW now going to be rewarded for bankrupting the auto companies by being given control of the firms it destroyed? Does this make any sense at all? This is a viable industrial policy?

In olden days the UAW would threaten to exterminate one auto company at contract time, to force an agreement with excessive wages and benefits. The UAW would then transfer the same excessive terms to the other automakers. Over the decades, the UAW effectively destroyed its own industry. General Motor’s employment shrinkage is projected to be approximately 90% of its peak employment. A union that ends up with 10% of the employment base it started with is corrupt, incompetent and self-destructive.

And I am a friend of the UAW. I have a deep affection for the men and women on the shop floor. I believe they have been betrayed by their union leaders. But whether the union members were betrayed or not, handing Chrysler (or GM) control over to a “pension plan” is sheer stupidity. It is a “plan” that is doomed to failure.

Four years ago I correctly predicted the industry would go bankrupt. I did it again last year. And if Obama’s current “bankruptcy plan” succeeds, I can confidently predict the companies will go bankrupt again in the future, to rid themselves of UAW control, mismanagement and inefficiency.

What is the current battle about? There are approximately $7 billion dollars in “secured” claims at Chrysler. That means the debt is backed by security of some sort: factories, inventories, etc. In addition, there are probably assets that Cereberus Corporation, Chrysler’s current owner, stripped out of the company that can be recovered as fraudulent conveyances.

Obama is demanding that people holding secured claims of $7 billion surrender them for approximately $2 billion, when market predictions are that in a bankruptcy these creditors could recover $4 billion or more on their debts.

Who owns big slices of the hedge funds that hold these claims? Why other "retirement plans," of course. Obama wants “other” companies’ employee retirement plans to write off their assets to subsidize the UAW's retirement program. Is that fair? I don't think so. Of course no one but me is correctly analyzing what Obama is actually doing by trying to bail out the UAW, which is shift the losses to other employee retirement plans, a classic case of robbing one union, Peter, to pay another union, Paul.

Sure the UAW voted to accept this thievery. But what about the “other” pension plans that have invested in the auto industry’s claims? These “other” plans include public employee pension funds. How do those workers and retirees feel about their funds being taken away to benefit UAW retirees? Not surprisingly, no one has asked the victims whether they want to be victims and whether they want to surrender billions of dollars of their assets and retirement savings to the UAW. (You heard this first, here.)

Why would a creditor take less than half from Obama, when the same creditor would get more than double in a bankruptcy? Why are automobiles any different than the numerous airlines that went bankrupt? No one bailed out the airline pension plans.

Obama says he is going to have a quick and easy bankruptcy. Not so fast, Barry O. Bankruptcy cases are seldom quick and easy, and restructuring the auto industry will take much more time than Obama realizes. After all, he is a failed lawyer who is no more of a competent bankruptcy attorney than he is a competent auto executive. He has no background in either.

My combined experience in economics and bankruptcy tells me that the bankruptcy proceedings are not going to be anywhere near as quick and easy as Obama believes or predicts. Creditors have lawyers, and lawyers fight for their clients. Clients have a right to maximize their return. And (reminder, again) many of these claims are ultimately held by plans funds which are owned by the retirement programs of other companies and organizations.

Creditors of other companies’ retirement plans are not required to surrender value merely so that overpaid and over compensated UAW members can receive a comfortable retirement.

At the next level, the bankruptcy confusion gets even more interesting. The “big banks” are willing to knuckle under to Obama. In other words, having been bailed out themselves, bank managements are willing to stick their stockholders with billions of dollars in unnecessary losses, by writing down their secured claims, merely to please the “Anointed One, Barry O.”

Well, who owns these banks? Large blocks of stock are owned by pension funds such as the UAW’s.

In other words, the very people who will suffer losses if the banks write down their secured claims are the UAW members who Obama claims to be bailing out at the other end. You can pick which end is the front, and which is the back.

OK, here comes the Republican Party commercial, an “editorial” on why I am a social moderate but still an economic conservative.

Bankruptcy is a brutal process. It is a bloodthirsty process. But at the end, the firms which emerge are going to survive because they have been restructured into viable enterprises, not because they have been converted into employment dens for union bosses and political commissars. Anyone remember the "union owned" cars built in the former Soviet Union or East Germany?

Obama on the other hand, proposes to “restructure” the auto companies in such a manner as to make it impossible for them to survive. So if Obama succeeds, the auto companies (and, yup, the UAW, again) are doomed to failure. Whether UAW workers lose “up front,” with a bankruptcy, or lose at the back end, when the banks in which their retirement plans hold shares write off capital to take losses on auto company loans, they will be losers either way.

Long term, Obama “saves” the UAW by killing it off. With a “terminal” prognosis long term, is he really that much of a friend of organized labor? Or working families?

My plan: let the markets work. Obama should simply say, in another departure from George Bush’s failed policies, “enough,” and walk away from the auto industry. He will be doing everyone a big favor. The federal government should simply write off its loans and say “Bye.” Soon enough, labor, management and the bankruptcy courts will work things through quite nicely on their own, without any government intervention.

Can anyone really say that New York swindler Steve Ratner and goofball Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner are going to do a better job?

Left alone, in no time there will be people bidding to buy auto assets and restart production lines. Jobs will survive. Fiat will still be trying to make a deal.

And my two Chrysler products will continue to hum away. I am a satisfied lifetime customer of American-made automobiles, and I say “Thank you, UAW members. I am only sorry your union leadership misled and disappointed you.” But the only way for a single UAW job to be secure is to keep Barack Obama off the shop floor.

Yes, mine is a “conservative Republican,” proposal, not a George Bush disaster bailout or a Barry Obama rescue extravaganza. People were building cars before Bush and Obama, and they will be building cars after Bush and Obama. If Bush and Obama would only stay out of the way.

I was right in 2005. I was right in 2008 and I am right in 2009. Let the automobile companies file for bankruptcy, and let the process work normally. It’s not a pretty sight to watch, but at the end of the process, our economy will be strengthened, not weakened, and workers will be safer than they would be if their positions were being protected by Obama’s political commissars.

Obama’s economic gyrations are validating the Republican Party’s core belief: less is more with government intervention

Barack “deCastro” Obama must be stopped before he inflicts more damage on the American economy and American people


(NEW YORK)(April 29, 2009) This is just a quick column to give you some insight into how I feel about today’s bad economic news. Thank you Barry Obama for proving the Republicans’ theory that free markets are the best approach to building and expanding a free society.

Barack Obama sits in the White House today because John McCain proved to be a geezery old windbag during last year’s economic collapse. McCain panicked, fumbled away the campaign lead to Obama and never recovered. (Do you remember when McCain was ahead? He was.)

My feelings last September proved to be correct. Economic intervention was likely to do more harm than good.

A recent congressional study suggested that government programs were actually delaying the recovery and hindering the economy. Well, that’s what the Republicans have always said. It was only when George Bush decided to socialize the banking industry last year, to protect profits for Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson’s old firm Goldman Greed & Co. and other Wall Street scams operators that the economic tremors morphed into an earthquake.

Are the rich suffering today? Not really. A recent story said Wall Street pirates are already living high again on new Washington booty. Are the poor and working classes suffering? Yes they are, due to mismanagement by Republicans and sheer socialist greed on the part of the Obamacrats.

Everything Obama does delays the recovery. Auto industry? I’ll have more to say about that when I get a breather. Banks? They saw what “government help” meant to them; the financial industry is running away from the Treasury Department as fast as they can. So what is Obama actually accomplishing with his trillions of dollars of socialistic spending?

Obama is robbing from our children and grandchildren, forfeiting the American dream, wiping out our comfortable retirements and delaying economic recovery. In short, he is bankrupting America. None of this comes as any surprise to me: my book “Obama: The Man Behind The Mask,” and my columns over the past five years have predicted Obama was a fraud and a thief.

Now don’t get me wrong. I am not advocating laissez faire economics with no restrictions and no controls. It wasn’t the “system” or the controls that failed last year. It was human nature. Greed got the best of our business leaders, and some of them are paying the price. Greed is not good.

But the auto industry and auto workers would be further a long the road to recovery without bailouts, and our banking system would be stronger today if the bad banks had simply gone under and we borrowed money to make good on deposit insurance.

With Obama, we have the worst of both worlds: capitalist greed (for his campaign contributors and Obamacrats) and hard times for the rest of us. How could Obama put a crook like Tim Geithner in the Treasury after Geithner helped engineer the collapse? Follow the money; it always leads to Goldman Greed & Co.

CROSS-MOTION TO STRIKE MOTION TO QUASH BY RUPERT
MURDOCH OR, IN THE ALTERNATIVE, TO SET A BRIEFING
SCHEDULE AND HEARING ON PROPER NOTICE WITH PRIOR
DISCLOSURES AS TO MURDOCH’S HOME, ETC.

Plaintiff hereby files this expedited response to a Motion to Quash filed by Rupert Murdoch on April 24th.
1. Because the motion to quash was not filed with proper notice, it should be stricken.
2. Plaintiff believes the Court should set a briefing schedule on the motion to quash, since Plaintiff has now submitted his affidavit of service and defendants Murdoch and Shine need to traverse that affidavit with their own sworn testimony.
3. Plaintiff moves the Court to order Murdoch and Shine to disclose their home addresses at which they wish to be re-served, and to identify the members of their households so that a process serves can stand by the buildings and serve a proper family member in propria persona.
4. So there is no doubt in the mind of this Court, contrary to defendant Murdoch's position Plaintiff does not believe it is proper to stalk a person's home to serve legal papers in a commercial dispute. Further, Plaintiff seriously doubts that Rupert Murdoch has personally authorized a stalking of his residence to serve papers on a family member in this lawsuit. The motion to quash appears to be the product of overzealous Chicago attorneys who are making work and building a bill but failing to exercise the common sense that should be a hallmark of every attorney’s advice to a client.
Once Murdoch and Shine have to formally disclose their home addresses, and swear under oath they were not served at their business addresses—when the sworn evidence is to the contrary—they may well have second thoughts about their attorneys’ dubious strategy.
The Court is aware that while Plaintiff and the New York Times have argued over issues in this lawsuit, the Times has not chosen to argue over service of process that is made in accordance with New York law on a security-guarded commercial structure.
If Murdoch is really authorizing and directing his current strategy in this Court, he should be removed as CEO by the board of News Corporation for violating News Corporation’s corporate government policy (see attached).

News Corporation media mogul Rupert Murdoch is on the run—dodging Andy Martin’s process servers

Murdoch says he wants Andy to stalk Murdoch at his New York mansion (is Murdoch senile?)

(NEW YORK)(April 25, 2009) Last October, Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News interviewed me in Chicago, a fact that Murdoch’s Chicago attorneys do not seem to realize. I was a guest on “Hannity’s America” and provided the first coherent timeline linking all of the radicals in Barack Obama’s life. Since my appearance, Hannity himself has gone considerably beyond the claims I made in attacking Obama.

But on October 5th, during the heat of the campaign, Barack Obama went berserk and created a dirty tricks operation to smear me. Obama’s mud-merchant-in-chief was Robert Gibbs.

Obama & Co. virtually ordered the New York Times to smear me. In two stories, one of them on the front page, the Times tried to suggest I was insignificant. The best smear the Times could come up with was a 25 year-old attack on me by a federal judge who I had exposed for engaging in corruption and conflicts of interest.

Why would the Times put an “insignificant” person on the front page? Because my anti-Obama truth squad was costing Obama millions of votes and depriving him of a runaway victory.

Later in October, Murdoch sent his munchkin William Shine out to smear me to Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post. Murdoch was groveling at the feet of Obama and Murdoch is known for groveling when it concerns his pocketbook.

Now ask yourself, when has any cable TV program, let alone Hannity’s America shown on Sunday nights, triggered two stories in the New York Times, as well as comments to the Washington Post? Why were Obama & Co. so obsessed with smearing me? Because they knew my columns were costing them millions of votes.

To clear my good name and to expose the corruption of both the New York Times and Fox News—which Murdoch is increasingly turning into a sympathetic outlet for Obama--I filed suit in the state where the Fox interview occurred, Illinois.

A process server was sent to serve Murdoch and Shine, and I went along to observe. I saw everything. Murdoch and Shine tried to hide behind the security guards in their office building and would not allow the process server to serve them.

Next week we have scheduled a motion for default against Murdoch and Shine.

At the last minute, Murdoch has hired a sleazy Chicago law firm to file false claims on behalf of both men. Murdoch says the law requires me to stalk him at his home and to serve him as he exits or enters his residence in Manhattan. He lives in a secure doorman building, so it would again be impossible to obtain entry for a process server.

Mr. Murdoch, who is so brave when he comes to smearing people, is a puny little old man when it comes to appearing in court and owning up to his slimy corporate behavior.

But since Murdoch has invited me to stake out his home and family (you can also serve family members) does anyone know where Murdoch and family live in New York?

In the meantime, now you know what kind of a scumbag Murdoch is. He smears people who appear as guests on Hannity’s America and tell the truth about Barack Obama.

I am very proud my columns cost Obama millions of votes. My only disappointment is that they did not cost him enough votes to defeat him. Murdoch was no help. He was in Obama’s pocket. He still is.

STATEMENT OF JURISDICTION

Pursuant to HRAP 12.1 and this Court’s Notice dated April 14, 2009, Plaintiff-Appellant files this Statement of Jurisdiction.
1. Statutory basis for appeal
This appeal is filed pursuant to Hawai’i Statutes § 641-1 (a).
2. Timeliness of appeal
a. The Motion for Reconsideration
The District Court announced its dismissal of this action on November 19, 2008. Thereafter, Plaintiff-Appellant filed a timely Motion for Reconsideration on November 26th. The Attorney General filed an opposition on December 12. The District Judge denied the motion on January 27, 2009. The Notice of Appeal was filed on February 13, 2009, well within thirty (30) days from January 27th.
b. The Notice of Appeal
The Notice of Appeal was timely filed within thirty days from the denial of Plaintiff-Appellant’s motion for reconsideration, HRAP 4. (a)(3).
CONCLUSION
With all due respect, Plaintiff-Appellant submits that this Court has jurisdiction of this appeal, and may enter such relief as the record may entitle appellant, Hawai’i Statutes § 641-2.

Almost every day brings a scary new conspiracy theory about Barack Obama. I don’t understand why people waste their time concocting conspiracies; frankly, the facts and the truth about Obama are scary enough.

Today I am excited to announce a new project that will, once again, focus attention on the truth and facts about Obama’s personality and political orientation: our new Internet movie, Obama, The Hawai’i Years. The movie is based on my own book, Obama, “The Man Behind The Mask,” and Obama’s novel “Dreams From My Father.”

We are asking ordinary citizens to contribute small amounts to cover the costs of production. This is a non-profit venture. The movie will be shown free on the Internet. I am donating my time and forty-one years of broadcasting and production experience. People need to contribute if they want to support the cause.

The more money we have to work with, the better the quality of the finished product. Pre-production has already begun. Actual taping begins in Honolulu on May 9th.

Why is Hawai’i important? Well, Michelle Obama and I don’t agree on much. She hates America and I love our country. But Michelle and I do agree that Barack’s formative years in Hawai’i are the key to decoding his character and political personality.

Last year I led the first investigative reporting team to land in Honolulu: Operation Aloha Obama. We caused a big commotion in Obama’s home state. Surprisingly, Obama himself returned to Honolulu while I was there. Just a coincidence? You be the judge.

It is a fact that I am the only one of Obama’s critics that he has sent his malignant mouthpiece Robert Gibbs out to attack by name. Just me. Why does Barry O dislike me? Precisely because I ignore conspiracy theories and focus exclusively on the truth and the facts about his past.

Obama doesn’t like people who look into his past. Why?

In a few days we will also be launching Operation Aloha Obama II. The purpose of both the first trip last October and the trip next month is to explore Obama’s Hawai’i background. We are searching for the underlying truths about how he became the man he is, and the people who influenced his character and personality.

Just because I search for the truth doesn’t mean that I don’t have my own opinions. I do. The new film will be a mixture of fact and opinion.

When I began writing analytically about Obama five years ago, I was the only independent to do the basic digging. I am still alone. Both Obama’s enemies and supporters live in mutually exclusive dream worlds. I continue to live in the real world, searching for the facts about his past. It is becoming an increasingly scary space.

People sometimes criticize me for not joining the effort to dream up conspiracy theories. But Obama-in-the-White-House is a reality, a cruel reality and ultimately a catastrophic reality for the American people. Every one of us. Those who voted for Obama, and those who voted against him, will suffer equally. So I am committed to the search for the truth and the facts about Mr. Obama, not conspiracy theories.

One thing about Hawai’i: corruption and cover-ups are a bipartisan affair.

Hawai’i is sponsoring “tours” about Obama without telling us the truth about his family origins. How contemptible. Hawai’i’s arrogant attitude is the definition of chutzpah, or sheer gall.

Why are people in Hawai’i so afraid of the truth? Operation Aloha Obama II is only there to search for the facts, not to propagate lies or conspiracy theories.

I don't often feel ashamed of the United States and frustrated with the American people, but I feel ashamed and angry today. Gullible Americans voted for an enemy of the United states to sit in the White House: Barack Obama. We will pay the price in blood soon enough. Our men and women in uniform will die as a result of the world chaos being created by Obama.

Please don't misconstrue my views on foreign policy. Diplomacy is essential, and diplomacy means dealing with your enemies as well as your friends. I have no problem with the State Department dealing with Venezuela, or Iran, or Cuba or North Korea. I would encourage State to do so. That’s what our representatives are supposed to do. But dealing with your enemies takes a deft hand.

Barry Obama’s groveling to dictators exposes him as an enemy of the American people and an enemy of freedom all around the world. Obama is a socialist saboteur who is deliberately destroying America’s image and the hopes of freedom-loving people everywhere. Who is he going to grovel to next?

Those are some of the more complimentary things I can say about him today.

Watching Obama bow to the Saudi king was an embarrassment, but it didn’t really change anything.

But watching Obama cavort with Hugo Chavez yesterday made me sick. No really. Sick. Obama is betraying the freedom-loving people of Venezuela.

Last fall Obama created a dirty tricks squad to smear me, and he sent his designated moron Robert Gibbs to attack me on national television. What had I done to incur the wrath of the chosen one? Take a look for yourself at my prophesy on the video (look at my segment at the link below, Part II); I had predicted the future:

I said on Hannity’s America: "If you love the Cuban revolution and Castro, and if you love what's happening in Venezuela with Hugo Chavez, you'll love Barry Obama."

Obama’s attempt today to deflect criticism of his submission to Hugo Chavez, by comparing the dollar-value of Venezuela’s defense budget to the United States' defense expenditures, is pure sophistry. No one expects Venezuela to attack the U.S.

The issue is freedom: Chavez has enslaved Venezuela and made himself a Castro-style dictator. He kills his enemies. He has bankrupted that wealthy nation. People are increasingly hungry. But William Ayers and Hugo Chavez? They love each other. Ayers was Obama’s advance man in Venezuela. Billy-boy laid the foundations; Obama is building his temple of love to Chavez.

Obama has betrayed every Venezuelan who is working to preserve freedom and democracy there. Imagine how Venezuelans who are fighting Chavez’ dictatorship must feel seeing Obama confer his seal of approval on Chavez. America has seldom been more disgraced by a chief executive. Barack Obama is an enemy of the American people.

Obama knew what he was planning to do if he became president, and last October he exploded when I laid out the time line of his radial connections from Ayers to Al-Mansour to Chavez and Castro, on Hannity’s America. It’s all there in my appearance on Sean’s show.

Now you know why the extreme left and George Soros’ brown shirted thugs attacked me so vehemently post-Hannity: I had decoded Obama’s plans and spoken the ultimate truth about how he planned to betray the United States.

My prophesy on Hannity’s program has now become a realty.

Now you know the rest of the story. And you know why last year the Obama campaign targeted me as their #1 enemy. They knew.

I tell the truth.

Every freedom-loving, loyal American is increasingly endangered by Barack Obama and his coterie of anti-American saboteurs in the White House. Is everyone who works for Obama a bad apple? Not at all. Many are good people who are supporting the work of a bad man. But I guarantee you Obama’s cozying and coddling dictators is going to bear bitter fruit for the American people.

Footnote: Rupert Murdoch, the groveling media baron, disgracefully smeared me for going on Hannity’s program and exposing Obama. Who has been vindicated by events? Me? Or Murdoch?

(NEW YORK)(April 18, 2009) Internet powerhouse Andy Martin will hold a New York City news conference today, Saturday, April 18th to demand that President Barack Obama remove Steven Rattner from any role in the auto industry rescue task force or the Treasury Department. Rattner is under investigation in a criminal prosecution involving kickbacks to former New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi and his cronies. Martin plans to ask New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to broaden his criminal investigation to include Rattner and Rattner's firm as targets.

"Barack Obama said he was bringing a new, higher standard of ethics to Washington," Martin states. "He had a detailed questionnaire asking about every facet of a person's life. Yet New York influence peddler Steven Rattner was appointed to a critical role as a member of the auto industry rescue task force and as a liaison with the Treasury Department. And Rattner says he told them he was under investigation for bribing public officials?

"What kind of ethics standards did Obama have in vetting his team? Chicago ethics? Rezko ethics? Blagojevich ethics? How is what Obama was doing—selling prominent roles in his administration to wealthy fundraisers—any different than what Rezko and Blagojevich did? Rezko, and Blago himself, were tripped up over the identical shenanigans: manipulating public pension funds for political gain.

"Rattner's firm says the company expects that 'no action will be taken.' Why? Is the fix in? I am going to ask General Cuomo to allow me to testify before the Grand Jury.

"The reality is that people facing jail time can 'give up' Rattner to save their own skins. Hello? I have always said Obama is not much of a lawyer; but he should follow my advice: cut Rattner now. It's only going to get worse.

"Today begins yet another effort to bring Barack Obama and his gang of pirates to justice. This time Obama was playing footsie with fundraisers in New York, who in turn were obviously bribing public employees. Amazingly enough, the undisputed evidence is that Rattner himself was doing the bribing. Rattner was as dumb as Blagojevich. And this is the man that is going to rescue the UAW, rescue the auto industry and help revive our economy. How? By bribing people?

"To quote that ancient prophet of biblical scripture at Trinity United Church in Chicago, '[Obama's] chickens are coming home to roost.' We are approaching the 100 days, and we are indeed 'dazed' by the relentless evidence of corruption, influence peddling and special interest solicitude in Obama's posse.

"Rattner's 'defense' that he disclosed the 'pending investigation' and he was still appointed to highly visible and critical roles by Obama shows that Obama is not much brighter than Blagojevich. What a disgrace to the White House. 'We don't need no stinkin' investigation' must have been the real standard of ethics review in Obama's vetting process.

"Janet Napolitano: take my name. I am an opponent of Barack Obama's Chicago-style sleaze. He has lowered the ethical standards in Washington even lower than they were when he arrived. Of course, I predicted all of this. It's all there in our earlier columns.

"After his defeat, former New York Mayor Ed Koch used to say words to the effect that 'the voters were wrong; now they must suffer.' The American people were wrong to vote for Obama; now they are needlessly suffering because of his sleazy associates and louche ethics."

Martin, who is an expert in and previously taught New York law, plans to ask this week that Attorney General Andrew Cuomo widen his grand jury probe to include Rattner and Rattner's firm Quadrangle as targets.

We got some replies that questioned whether my claim that Holy Baptism was the entry point to Christianity was correct. In particular, I pointed out Obama has never issued a baptismal date or explained when he was actually baptized. I also pointed out that many Christian churches made a big deal of maintaining baptismal records.

Obviously, religious denominations within Christianity differ widely on baptism.

However, with a little research I found a church that is proud to keep baptismal and marriage records going back to 1835:

St. Bartholomew's also states a clear view on Baptism (same link):

HOLY BAPTISM is the sacrament by which one becomes a Christian and a member of the Church. All ministry originates in baptism. Therefore, living out one's baptism is at the heart of our life together.
The Episcopal Church defines baptism as "full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's Body, the Church" (Book of Common Prayer, p. 298), and recognizes as valid any baptism administered with water and in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Baptism is an event of primary significance and celebration not just for the individual but for the whole church. Baptisms are offered throughout the year on specific Sundays and at the Easter Vigil. Preparation is offered regularly in anticipation of Baptism Sundays.

Maybe president Obama should tell us when he was baptized if he wants to claim he is a Christian.

Great news!

We have made tentative reservations to go back to Hawai'i: (1) to continue our research about Barack Obama's personal history; (2) to help Hawai'ians understand why we are recommending an economic boycott of the state and (3) to file new lawsuits seeking access to public and school records concerning Barack Obama's history.

The State of Hawai'i has been stonewalling our requests for documents and violating Hawai'i state law. More lawsuits are probably necessary. However biased the local courts may be, they have unquestioned jurisdiction over the vital information and historical documents we need. So we have to sue in Hawai'i.

We have seven days to pay for the new travel reservations, at which point they will cancel out.

This is our first preliminary letter to update you and advise you if you wish to either (1) financially support the new investigative trip or (2) join the team in Hawai'i or (3) do both.

If funded, "Operation Aloha Obama II" will launch in Honolulu on May 9th and conclude on May 14th.

Last October, "Operation Aloha Obama" was spectacularly successful and even drew mainstream media attention. In the middle of our investigation, Obama announced plans to bring his entourage back to Honolulu.

With a proven record of past success we are now asking for your immediate help.

First, we have done everything we can to cut the costs of the proposed trip to keep costs to a bare minimum. I would be staying at a fleabag hotel to save money. Honolulu is an expensive city. But we will risk a few roaches to make the investigation possible.

Please contribute your support through BoycottHawaii.com, or if you prefer send a check to the above address made out to the Committee of One Million. Even with a barebones budget we still need to raise substantial funds to cover the costs of the trip itself as well as new litigation fees, etc.

There has been some controversy recently concerning the litigation and operating practices of other Obama opponents. I am not sufficiently knowledgeable to comment and so I will not.

But here is how we operate: To avoid suspicion or any suggestion of self-interest, we conduct both the Committee of One Million and BoycottHawaii.com on a breakeven basis. To keep costs low, we keep almost all of our work in-house. I am a volunteer. I don’t receive any salary for my work. This lack of financial resources obviously curtails our operations, but it enhances our credibility as a public interest organization devoted solely to the facts and the law with no profit making or self-interest involved.

These financial limitations also explain why we have to ask for money (and why we will have to cancel the trip if support does not materialize).

Second, if you would like to personally join our investigative team in Honolulu, please let us know as soon as possible. We need to know who is coming so we can plan. (You must make your own arrangements to get there and stay there.) Assuming we get the backing to go forward, you would have to show up on or after May 9th and leave on the 14th of May (or later if you stay on).

We will be digging into all aspects of Obama's past. We hope to have enough contributions in advance to run a newspaper ad in a Honolulu paper seeking witnesses.

Third, we will be educating the people of Hawai'i about BoycottHawaii.com. We want to help Hawai'ians reorganize their state to throw off the yoke of cronyism and corruption that makes Hawaii a bipartisan disgrace, a Chicago-in-the-Sunshine.

Finally, it looks as though Hawai'i officials, from the governor on down, are going to fight us on release of Obama's historical records. They are breaking Hawai'i law. We need money to file lawsuits and then carry on the legal battle.

I cannot predict what the evidence will show when we receive it. But I am committed to investing the time and effort to search for the facts and the truth about President Obama. I am sometimes criticized for not making exaggerated claims about BHO. I will not do so. I stick to the evidence, and the honest and open search for the evidence. Of course, I also express opinions and conclusions drawn from the available evidence. But we scrupulously separate fact from fiction. Others are not so punctilious.

Unlike some of Obama's other opponents, we focus solely on the search for the facts and the truth; our credulity cannot be questioned. That is why I am the only one of his critics that Obama has personally and openly attacked. The truth hurts; Obama knows that. We don’t try to attack Obama with lies; we merely want to reveal the truth about his past. That's what he cannot stand.

Please give generously. The investigative team is being generous with their time and energy to make these ongoing investigations and lawsuits possible.

(NEW YORK)(April 13, 2009) I don't often have good things to say about former President George W. Bush. But today I want to thank him for the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips, held hostage by Somali criminals and rescued by the U. S. Navy.

The captain was rescued by George W. Bush's Navy, not Barack Obama's Navy.

I have never been much of a success as a politician because I insist on telling audiences the truth, even when it goes against popular opinion. The Bush Brothers and I are not friends. And political groups don’t want informed and independent opinion; they want red meat. Life is much more complex. My ultimate loyalty is to the truth, and not to any individual or party. I am a Republican by inclination, but not a Republican "right or wrong."

That is why today I am alone in all of America's media in singing the praises of President George W. Bush. He rescued Captain Phillips.

The "Navy" that was able to respond in the Indian Ocean was a navy created by the Bush administration. While Bush may not have maintained as large a navy as I would prefer, he kept our seafaring capabilities at a high level.

Barack Obama wants to devastate the navy, and reduce our fleet to a handful of tugboats and dinghies.

The "navy" that Barack Obama is trying to create with his proposed defense programs would not have been able to rescue Captain Phillips. Think about that for a minute. If Obama had been in office long enough to succeed with his plans for the navy, there would not have been a successful rescue of our hostage captain.

The liberal media, of course, are desperately trying to "spin" the captain's rescue as a "victory" for the "young commander in chief who had yet to prove himself to his generals or his public."

Well, Obama "proved" himself all right. He proved he is an uncertain and unsteady hand on the tiller. Obama wants to gut our defense capability so he can "invest" in welfare checks for illegal immigrants. The navy that he wants to create would lack a global reaction capability.

Obama has said nothing about cleaning out the land-based Somali pirate nests, and he won't. They are Muslims. He will not become the scourge of the Somali terrorists. Under an "Obamas Navy," Captain Phillips would have been sitting in captivity for months.

Barack Obama proved he is the new Jimmy Carter.

Obama sent a strong message to both our friends and enemies: when there is a crisis or conflict, he will hide in the White House basement until it is safe to emerge and claim victory. His feckless behavior did not deter future attacks on Americans. He has encouraged them. With each passing day that Obama is in the White House our worldwide military capability is being degraded and decreased.

Congress, are you listening?

And so, today I praise the real hero of yesterday's victory: President George W. Bush, who kept America militarily strong and left behind a Navy with the capability to rescue Captain Phillips.

Thank you President Bush. Thanks George. During your term in office you took credit for a lot of things that you did not deserve credit for. But today, quietly, you can take credit for leaving behind a U. S. Navy that can respond around the world.

I salute you. And every man and woman in uniform should salute you.

Thank you President Bush for rescuing Captain Richard Phillips.

This is really your day, not Barack Obama's.

If Obama really had a religious denomination there would be no need for the "hunt" for a church. Rather, it appears that as he has done throughout his life, Obama is trying to "triangulate" religion to maximize the politics and minimize the religion.

Almost five years ago my columns were the first ones to focus on Barack Obama's Muslim family roots. Obama's thugs have since tried to demonize me for starting the "rumor" that Obama is a Muslim. I started no rumor. Obama now admits he comes from a Muslim family. Obama's prior denials, and the attacks on me personally, were totally malicious and politically inspired.

The fact that Obama created a "dirty tricks" operation to smear me during the campaign, and sent his mouthpiece out to attack me on national television, shows how seriously Obama & Co. take my reporting and analysis of his "faith." His smears and the attacks of the hard left media such as the New York Times were an extreme compliment to me. No doubt I will be attacked for this current column. I am only asking legitimate questions which are raised by Obama's own claims.

Barack is not a Muslim today, despite the fact that Islamic theology binds a male to the religious observances of his father. In America, neither Islam nor any other religious precepts can hold us involuntarily. We are free to worship as we wish, or not to worship at all. We are free to believe without any interference from beliefs imposed at birth.

Indeed, if Obama never set foot in a church, that would be his prerogative. His "religion" only becomes an issue because he has tried to exploit Christianity as a smokescreen for his own family's history of Islamic observance.

Ironically, Obama may have been drawn closer to Christianity because of Michelle [Robinson] Obama's family roots. African-Americans are among the most devout Christians, and the most regular attendees at Sunday services.

Prior to Michelle, the only stable religion Obama had ever experienced was the period during his childhood in Jakarta, when he worshipped with his stepfather Lolo Soetero. They went to the mosque. Other than that innocent period in his life, religion for Obama appears to have been a commodity to manipulate for personal and political gain, and nothing more.

Let me start with the obvious, and with a defense of Obama. There is nothing wrong with "church shopping." I am an Episcopalian. Every Sunday my rector, and probably most of the rectors in the Episcopal denomination, makes welcoming remarks. The rectors always invite "shoppers" to consider making their parish the visitors' new church home. So the fact that the Obamas are currently "looking for a church" is nothing sinister in itself.

What is interesting is that Obama claims to have been a part of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. "United Church of Christ" is usually shortened to "UCC." The UCC is a liberal Christian denomination. But, significantly, Obama is not saying his denomination is now the "UCC." He's not identifying any denomination.

Most Christians, by the time they reach 50 (Obama is almost 50), would be able to identify both their denomination and their religion. They would say, "I am a [Roman] Catholic," or (in my case) "an Episcopalian," or Greek Orthodox, or Baptist, or whatever. We know who we are by the time we approach 50.

Obama does not know who he "is" religiously, because he "is" not anything religiously. He is apparently not looking at the churches of any one denomination in Washington; he is just eyeballing churches in general. That is why I accuse him of "triangulation." The UCC has been thrown under the bus.

In the past I have often made the observation that we Christians have followers with every conceivable level of involvement. In my limited ministry as an usher I know most of the regular congregation. On Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday, attendance will triple or quadruple. We welcome them all, even though these persons only appear (miraculously?) two or three Sundays a year.

Likewise, persons of the Jewish faith have people who only celebrate Passover and High Holy Days. I am not familiar with similar Muslin attendees, but even Obama's own sister said they attended mosque on "holidays."

So what does it take to be a Christian? Does Obama qualify? Maybe. Maybe not. As with so much of his life and personal history, there is a glaring gap in his religious records.

Being a Christian is not quite as easy as falling off a log, but it is almost as easy. You need to be baptized, and you need to profess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You don't even need to make a big issue of your "profession" of Christ in order to be accepted as a Christian. Just showing up in a church is a sufficient "profession" of the faith for most clergymen.

Has Obama ever been baptized? We don’t know. I do not believe that anyone can point to a specific date when Obama was actually baptized. Does the UCC do baptism differently? I don't know. Not that I am aware of. The UCC is considered a "mainline" protestant denomination whose views on theological, as opposed to political, issues are pretty traditional. Obama has never identified an actual date when he was baptized. The question remains. [Saturday night, my rector in his sermon emphasized the date of his baptism as a significant date in his life. He knew the day.]

I also don’t know how comprehensive the UCC record-keeping system is. In my church (Episcopal), we keep detailed records. Some years ago, I had to reconstruct a lost wallet, and went back to the Greek Orthodox church where I was baptized sixty years ago (my parents were Greek Orthodox and Anglican. I chose the Episcopal Church when I became an adult because their services were in English). The Orthodox church still had my original baptismal records. Episcopalians are also quite particular when it comes to baptismal records.

Obama's silence on his baptism raises questions. Why won't he provide a date? I have no idea.

But because it is Easter Sunday today, I am going to give Obama the benefit of the doubt. I am going to say he is a Christian, but just barely so. He is clearly in the Christmas-and-Easter crowd.

To be an active Christian is to be involved in a church on a regular basis. Christianity may be an easy religion to adopt, but it is a hard religion to practice home alone. Christianity is a communal religion. We derive our great strength from community and continuity; this goes for all denominations within Christianity.

Although I once studied to be ordained, I decided we had enough priests in the Episcopal Church. My own lay ministry today involves being an usher, and greeting parishioners and visitors. I cannot tell you how deeply satisfying being even a lay minister can be.

Saturday night (yesterday) I came off the altar during the Easter Vigil service. One of our parishioners who has disabilities was there with a smile a mile wide. He grabbed me and hugged me. No amount of money in my life could compensate for the love that my friend expressed. Because of my background, and because I have a very gentle rector who understands our ministry to the least of our brethren is a critical part of our community ministry, I often work with troubled parishioners, and occasionally even difficult ones.

At one church where I previously attended, a Jesus Christ look-alike showed up one morning. The other ushers were perturbed. They asked me, "What should we do?" I said, "Do nothing. We'll monitor the situation." The person came and left without any incident. I was a fixture at that parish for decades, as an usher and crucifer. People would come and go from the city, but they knew I would still be at the same church in the same location when they returned. And I was.

Being of service, in small ways or large ways, nourishes the spirit. What I often sense in Barack Obama is that ultimately his real religion is himself. He worships himself. That’s why he appears to withdraw when crises arise, as in the current hostage crisis in Somalia. He has no spiritual reservoir to give him outer as well as inner strength in times of crisis. That is why he retreats. Into himself. His commitment in life is to himself, not to his parish, or his community or his church denomination. He is all sail and no anchor or, as his detractors believe, someone for whom religion is a convenience and nothing more.

So is Barack Obama a Christian? Probably. Does he practice the faith? Not remotely. This is a man, after all, who "attended" the same church for two decades but claims he never heard a controversial sermon. I love my current rector deeply. But if he started preaching racial hatred or something similarly loony, in due course I would be out the door. I have not listened to every one of my rector's sermons, but I have listened to enough to know who he is and what he believes.

Obama's claim he had no idea who Reverend Jeremiah Wright is, or that Wright was merely the product of "Black rage," is not a sufficient explanation.

Finally, Obama's drama about seeking a new church is a little unchristian. Actually, there is an Episcopal Church across the street from the White House. The President could literally walk across the street. And yes, they have a lot of experience with high-profile worshipers. Thus, Obama's claim that he is concerned with "security" is complete nonsense. I have worshipped at St. John's Episcopal and he would be welcome there without the need for the current drama. Big Drama Obama: walk across the street.

But even more than making a spectacle of church attendance, Obama would benefit from being part of a parish, participating in its ministries and making himself genuinely subservient to the needs of others. I derive immense gratification from writing, investigating, exploring, commenting and analyzing world events. But nothing could compare with the exuberant smile and bear hug I received Saturday night from the fellow parishioner who knows how much I love him, and how much I care about his well being. It was a gift from God.

And, after the parishioner hugged me, I looked at him, pointed to his pants, and said "tuck in." He did. He knows that I care about him, and that makes a difference in his life. It also makes a big difference in mine.

Barack Obama needs to make a difference in someone else's life besides his own and his own family's. That is the essence of Christianity.

Happy Easter President Obama, and Happy Easter to all of you. May the miracle of the Easter message grace your lives today, and every day of your lives. And a very special Happy Easter to my fellow parishioner, whose huge smile and warm hug Saturday night made all the difference in my life this Easter Sunday.

The pirate hostage crisis is turning into Barack Obama's worst nightmare, a miniature version of the takeover of the United States Embassy in Tehran in 1979.

Coming in the wake of Obama's bowing down to the King of Saudi Arabia, an ongoing hostage imbroglio would confirm that Obama has suffered his worst week, the first of many bad weeks to come. As long as an American seaman remains a hostage, media attention will be focused on his plight.

If the Somalis are actually allowed to escape, after being surrounded by a U. S. Navy ship, or if other pirate vessels are allowed to approach with a pirate flotilla, Barack Obama's presidency is dead. He will have lost all credibility with the rest of the world.

Its time to take on the pirate strongholds "in the air, on land and sea", and tell the pirates what we told the thugs a hundred years ago: "Pericardis alive or Raisuli dead."

If reports in the Washington Post are pointing in the right direction, Obama is stepping back to allow the shipping line to pay ransom as a "cost of business." That would have a disastrous impact on American prestige, and set off a worldwide piracy epidemic.

The Navy would be humiliated. General Petraeus would be embarrassed. Loyal Americans would be outraged.

It is time for Barry O to face the inevitable: he is going to have to attack and take out the pirate strongholds, all of them, "…on land, and sea."

Disgraceful. Piracy is not a sea borne version of "West Side Story," with misunderstood punks seizing hostages out of ennui and with Obama as a later-day Officer Krupke.

It took Jimmy Carter three years to reach worldwide humiliation in Tehran; Obama has managed the trick in less than three months. Obama cannot allow himself to be castrated as a leader.

Obama started as "Sweet Barry," the "anti-Bush." In just a few hours or days, if the pirate circus drags on and if Obama continues to defer to a woman as the leader of his response to piracy--Hillary Clinton as the only man in his administration—Obama's world standing and prestige will be DOA. RIP Barry O.

If Barack Obama continues to act as a "girly man" and hide in the White House, he will sink the U. S. Navy, humiliate the American people ands trigger endless confrontations during the remaining three years of his mortally wounded presidency.

He will have to go back to Chicago and sulk in his Rezko-financed manse.

(NEW YORK)(April 9, 2009) Rudyard Kipling, the 19th Century chronicler of the British Empire understood. When times are good, no one wants to honor our men and women in uniform. We strip them of their weapons and ignore their needs. When times are bad, we suddenly rediscover our military services. At least that's the way it was in Kipling's time.

America has been an unusual nation for a special reason: we honor our military personnel all the time. Not just when we need them. America is not a martial nation. But we are a grateful one, to the men and women who have kept us safe, and keep us safe every day.

New Year's eve Barack Obama must have thought the world was at his feet. He had managed to convince the American people he should sit in the White House. He had managed to franchise foreign policy to the Clinton organization. And he could look forward to "using the financial crisis" to morph the United States of America into the United Socialist States of America. It all must have looked so easy.

In three months, his world has been turned upside down.

Obama may yet become the accidental warrior.

Earlier this week, Obama proposed a budget that would shrink the military. Yes, the new budget would provide more money for small-scale warfare. But the United States is a global power, not a small-scale one.

Obama's scheme has been undone by a handful of Somali pirates, one of whom might even be missing from a Minneapolis suburb where several Islamic teenagers recently disappeared. Could fate be so brutal?

Obama assembled one of the least bellicose cabinets in history. Other than retired Marine General James Jones, whose role takes on new prominence and significance with each passing day, Obama's cabinet lacks noticeable military expertise.

Obama himself is no warrior. And maybe that's a good thing. The so-called "adult" warriors of the Bush administration created chaos in the Middle East with misguided polices, invaded Iraq and caused more confusion, and left behind a festering conflict in Afghanistan and Pakistan. It looks as though Dick Cheney's "adults" were actually the ones in need of "adult supervision."

So while I have never been a supporter or admirer of Obama, I understand why the American people in frustration and exasperation turned to the mild-mannered Barry Obama to save them from the false and incompetent bravado of George W. Bush and his Republican "rough riders."

And then a U.S. ship was boarded by pirates. For the first time in two centuries. A handful of thieves may have unexpectedly upended Obama's lifetime of planning for his conquest of the American government.

Conservatives were already yapping (and properly so) about Obama's misguided claim that America is "just another nation." For better or for worse, we are not.

Our Constitution and our solid institutions give us stability no other nation can match. Yes, voters make mistakes, sometimes egregious ones. But they have the power to correct them (as they will no doubt correct their error in anointing Obama).

Our freedom has produced wealth beyond the wildest dreams. Obama tells us we are in the "worse crisis since the depression" and yet restaurants are crowded and theaters are packed. As one country and western singer on Fox's "Hannity" recently said, "there are even waiting lines for Red Lobster." The economy has declined, but only from an unimaginably lofty plateau.

The Depression-era comic Will Rodgers once said that America was the only nation that drove to the poor house in a Cadillac. In our current crisis we may be driving to the poorhouse, but we are going with a car full of TV's, GPS's, computers and i-Phones, with regular stops at roadside restaurants. No, we are not poor, and we are not beaten and we are not through, not by a long shot.

But with wealth comes responsibility (as well as the inevitable envy). And with responsibility comes the need to act, and lead.

This week the Somali pirates called Obama's bluff. As long as the ships of foreign nations were being boarded and held for ransom, the pirate crisis was a back story. Once a U. S. crew and flagged vessel were seized, Obama could no longer hide.

Earlier this week, Obama made a campaign stop in Baghdad. Barely a hundred hours later, the significance and necessity of our military was staring down Obama in the Indian Ocean.

As our Campaigner-In-Chief it was proper for him to visit Iraq. I hope he was infected with the boisterousness and loyalty and love of country and Constitution that most people in the military exhibit.

And then the pirates struck.

Could Obama become an accidental warrior? A reluctant one?

History teaches that we do not command events. Events command us. All of his life, Obama has been commanding his destiny, scheming, plotting, planning, manipulating and so forth. But now that he is in the Bully Pulpit, events command him. Can he in turn command? I don't know.

"Barry O" thought he could let Hillary handle the rest of the world while he imposed his socialist dogma on the American people. It looks as though his game plan has been thrown out of
whack.

Earlier today I wrote how a Moldovan gangster, Israeli Avigdor Lieberman, had thrown down the Israeli-Palestinian gauntlet to Obama. Today it was the Somali pirates who have thrown Obama's cut-the-Navy-budget into reverse. Last week it was the North Koreans. Obama just doesn't have much time to focus on creating his domestic regime.

Not many of us spend time in harbors. But, unseen, the maritime industry keeps the continents connected, and the U.S. Navy keeps the seas free and open to all.

The men and women of our Navy serve a global purpose. I do not support cutting either the number of aircraft carriers or the fleets that they lead. No, I don't like seeing tax dollars spent maintaining global peace. But there is no reasonable alternative. Every American benefits from global trade and the free movement of goods and services around the world.

We need more ships, not fewer. We need a few more men and women willing to serve in the Navy. Each of them is an honored participant in the ongoing history of American exceptionalism. We don’t see them; we don't hear them. We don't know many or any of them by name. But our kids and their officers keep the seas safe and secure for every American. Thank you.

This week, Somali pirates interrupted over 200 years of American freedom of the seas. The U.S. Marines, of course, were and continue to be a maritime fighting force. In due course they will deal with and subdue the pirates. But in the meantime this gang of small bore Somali burglars sent the United States of America a strong wake-up call.

If Barack Obama thinks he can simply surrender the seas to piracy and criminality, there are close to 300 million Americans who are going to stand up and fight him.

Barack Obama: the accidental warrior. Maybe.

Obama can fight our enemies, or he can fight the American people. Either way, for the first time in his life he's in the fight of his life.

And, oh, Mr. President. God Bless the USA. Really.

(NEW YORK)(April 9, 2009) Are we about to witness the death knell of the Israel lobby? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Here are some admittedly provocative thoughts.

Five years ago I stumbled across Barack Obama. He has come to dominate my writing. But my original background is in foreign policy analysis, both in the Middle East (40 years ago) and Asia (42 years ago).

During the Cold War, it was difficult to penetrate the secretive societies of Russia and China. The bulk of US intelligence was forced to operate from the sidelines. Hong Kong was a center of "China watching." Likewise, "Kremlin Watchers" were a regular feature of U.S.-based and European analysis.

Welcome back to those days of yesteryear. Only this time we are watch the White House for subtle hints of policy shifts and priorities. 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue: the New Kremlin.

One of the oldest aspects of intelligence and counter-intelligence is scrutinizing published or public information for slips. The United Kingdom has just lost a counter-terror chief because he sloppily carried an operational plan out in the open where it could be photocopied.

Was President Barack Obama's speech in Ankara a tip on where his ME policy is headed? Maybe. We'll be watching.

First, a warning or limitation: this column is not an attack on Israel. Despite Obama's misguided efforts to smear me as an "anti-Semite," I am not remotely so. I just call'em as I see'em. I am not pro or anti-Israel. I am only pro-American. Period. Ironically, many people who agree with my criticisms of Obama vehemently disagree with my views on the Middle East.

Second, I am not suggesting below that Israelis were to blame for 9/11. I am only stating the obvious: Israelis knew more about preparations for the attacks on 9/11 than George Bush was willing to admit to the American people. Those hidden truths about 9/11 are now under the absolute control of Barry O.

Finally, during the 2008 campaign Israeli intelligence was behind some of the most absurd and exaggerated attacks on BHO's personal life and family history. Obama has a quiet motive for pay back.

Now consider several basic facts: (1) Obama does not like the daily grind of governing. He sees himself as an emperor, a Sun God, not as an administrator. He has never administered anything. (2) Turning around US economy is slow and laborious; that kind of drawn out process is not Barry O's thing. Finally, (3) a president can still crack the whip in foreign policy. And nowhere is that more true than in the Middle East.

Obama may be about to crack the whip.

As an added incentive to crush the new Israeli regime, Obama has been widely criticized and characterized as "caving in" to the demands of European leaders on his recent visit there. What better way to flaunt his authority than to do a "Rick Wagoner" on foreign policy and squash the Israeli termites that want to undermine his foreign policy?

Avigdor Lieberman is the Moldovan thug and racist who is widely regarded in Israel as an oppressor of the Palestinian people and lives on the occupied West Bank. Could there be a more glaring symbol of Israeli arrogance than elevating a gangster like Lieberman to high government office while he lives on land stolen from the Palestinians?

Israel was not responsible for the 9/11 attacks on the USA. Be clear about that. But Israel was complicit in concealing information about the preparations. Israeli intelligence was breaking US laws by spying in the United States on the Islamic terrorists who were planning the World Trade Center attacks. Israeli intelligence allowed the attacks to go forward because Israelis could not warn the CIA and FBI without blowing their cover. (Parenthetically, that is why American-Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard will never be paroled; Israelis continue to break the rules; US intelligence experts know that.)

Who in 2001 would have thought that extreme anti-war elements would gain control of the US government and, through the Obama White House, control of US intelligence history about what Israelis knew and when they knew it concerning 9/11? The election of an Obamaesque president in 2001 seemed very remote indeed.

If I were in the Mossad or Shin Bet today, I would have a real reason to fear BHO's control of historical information about Israel's anti-American intelligence operations on US soil.

With his control of the still-secret information concerning Israel's role in concealing plans for 9/11, Obama has the hip-pocket potential to whip up a virulent anti-Israel firestorm virtually at the snap of a finger.

With these underlying conditions, we examine Obama's remarks in Turkey that he is committed to the "Annapolis" process for Middle East Peace. Just a few days earlier Lieberman had categorically erased Annapolis. Who Da Boss? Avigdor Lieberman or Barry O? Take your pick. Lieberman has made himself prime real estate to be flattened by Obama's bulldozer. Avigdor Lieberman, call Rick Wagoner.

Israelis have always been fearful they could not trust Obama, which is why they acted clandestinely to undermine him during the 2008 campaign. Obama knows that unless he crushes the Israelis he will never be the master of US foreign policy. I have been a skeptic on Mr. Obama's bona fides for Middle East peace. I may have to revise that view.

Israel lobby: the signs are out there to be seen. Your days could be numbered. With Obama, you're never sure. Could be. Not will be.

Today's "observations" in the New York Times could be the "telegraphed punch" that warns Israel what is coming if Lieberman is permitted to keep disrespecting the USA:

It is obvious that the United States cannot allow a crooked pipsqueak like Avigdor Lieberman to thumb his nose at US foreign policy. Benjamin Netanyahu, who prides himself on knowing America from his years living here, should know better. Netanyahu may have created a "government" that is programmed to self-destruct. Zipi Livni is waiting in the wings.

As I said, the "Kremlin Watching" and "China watching" style of American intelligence and counter-intelligence is back in style. Only this time we are watching the White House for signs of policy change. It's enough to make you feel young again. Barry O, we hardly know ye.
