“Six years ago in August 2004 I wrote the first article on Barack Obama’s religion, and said he was a Muslim,” Martin notes. “I am more convinced than ever that I was correct in my initial assessment. Over three years ago I raised questions about Barack Obama’s citizenship and eligibility to be president. (It's all in my book.) Frankly, the American people were not interested in ‘the facts’ and they preferred to buy a pig in a poke, Barack Obama. So it is kind of funny to see Barack Obama now telling Brian Williams in New Orleans ‘the facts are the facts,’ when Obama has worked so hard to conceal the facts during the presidential campaign.

“Last year I wrote that the window for Obama to ‘come clean’ on his citizenship and religion was closing. He would eventually cross an 'equinox' where he had more public hostility than support, and then the attacks on his religion and citizenship would be intensified by the media. We are right on schedule. I essentially predicted what happened Sunday night: Obama created a photo op in New Orleans and in the middle of an interview with NBC News Brian Williams dropped the ‘Muslim/Birth Certificate’ bomb.

“Mr. Obama tried to make a joke of Williams’ concerns about Obama’s religion and citizenship, but these questions are not a joke and they are not funny. And they are not going away. Every day they are growing on the Internet.

“I applaud Brian Williams for having the guts to raise the concerns. I am always squabbling with NBC News, and I will have an attack on them later in the week on an unrelated topic, but Monday I want to praise Mr. Williams and NBC News for opening Obama’s can of worms.

“Mr. Williams is a serious man who takes his journalism seriously. You don’t have to always agree with him to respect his integrity. I would have phrased his opening question to Obama slightly differently; but the fact that Williams directed any question to Obama over his citizenship and religion is devastating to the president.

“Over the Labor Day holiday we will be building out our new web site ‘BirtherNation.us,’ which is devoted to exposing Barack Obama’s lies about his birth, citizenship and education. Later this week we will be holding a Palm Beach news conference to announce an upcoming major new investigation and litigation in Hawai’i concerning Obama’s records. The second edition of my book (see below) is selling out and we are going to consider a new printing in the future.

“I go into these details to underscore that reasonable, responsible inquiry into Obama’s religion and family origins is a legitimate area of scholarly inquiry and that we are proceeding solely on the basis of scholarly standards.

“What Brian Williams should have asked, and he came close, was ‘How can you expect to govern when a fifth of the American people don’t even trust your answers on religion and birth?

“Obama’s responses appeared genuine, because he was probably surprised by Williams’ bluntness. Obama has a contemptuous attitude towards his critics. Obama said there was a ‘network of misinformation.’ In point of fact there is no network of misinformation. I have been the source of accurate information about Obama’s religion and citizenship for six years. He has never challenged or undermined any factual claim that I made. Instead he has used his attack dogs to launch personal attacks on me.

“Obama has maintained a relentless misinformation campaign against me, originally using Robert Gibbs and the New York Times to smear me with decades-old stale accusations and to intimidate the media. Well, the media are becoming increasingly ‘unintimidated’ as Mr. Williams’ inquiries reflect.

“That is not to say that all sources of criticism about Obama are accurate. The public record reflects, however, that I have repeatedly exposed and attacked anti-Obama charlatans who proffered false claims against the man. All I want is the facts and the truth. Nothing more. Indeed, some of Mr. Obama’s opponents have criticized me for exposing anti-Obama charlatans and exposing their misuse of the truth. But that’s why Obama is terrified of me, and loves the whackos who propound silly theories. I have a passion for the truth.

“FACT: There is no location in Hawai’i that openly advertises itself as Obama’s ‘birthplace.’ His family has claimed two different hospitals where he was born. Don’t you think if had been born somewhere, they would put a plaque on the door and say ‘Birthplace of the 44th President?’ Why are they hiding this obvious fact?

“FACT: I personally believe Obama was born in Hawai’i. But I have also noticed how Barack and Michelle Obama love to stoke the ‘Kenyan birth certificate’ crowd with catnip, so the Obamas can agitate their opposition and energize their own left-wing base. In my expert opinion, what Barack Obama is hiding is not where he was born, but how he was born.

“FACT: Obama says he does not want his birth certificate ‘plastered on my forehead.’ But his original, typewritten 1961 birth certificate has never been plastered anywhere. He has never released it to the American people. He released a laser printout from a state database. The original, typewritten 1961 birth certificate has never seen the light of day although Hawai’i official Chiyome Fukino claims to have seen that document. Obama doesn’t have to plaster his birth certificate on his head; but unless and until he authorizes Hawai’i officials to release the original, typewritten 1961 document he is hiding the truth from the American people.

“FACT: The qualifications to serve as president are different than those for any other federal office. Being an American citizen is not enough. Obama’s putative father was apparently never even a permanent resident of the United States. He came here on a student visa, fornicated, and left. I don’t think Obama’s putative father ever had a Green Card. While Obama may have acquired ‘birth citizenship,’ I do not believe he ever acquired the enhanced ‘natural born citizenship’ that the Constitution mandates only for the presidency.

“Obama is not stupid. He is a bright man. He’s no courtroom lawyer but he is trained in the law. That’s why he loves to play lawyer-style word games with the media and the American people. Obama knows his day of judgment is approaching, as we will detail in our forthcoming Palm Beach news conference. That’s why he increasingly acts like a one-term president.

“To mix another metaphor, Brian William and NBC News burst the dam. They put the issue of Obama’s ability to lead, in light of increasing doubts about his religion and eligibility to sit in the Oval office, on the front burner. We’ll have more analysis and commentary as week wears on. But today, Monday, we stop to salute Brian Williams and NBC for asking the tough questions,” Martin states. “Obama can joke about the ‘Muslim/birth’ questions, but these issues are on the minds of a growing segment of the American public. Why won’t Obama release the public records in Hawai’i, and other files at Occidental, Columbia and Harvard, that would confirm the truth?

(NEW YORK)(April 18, 2010) During the 1992 presidential campaign Bill Clinton had a team whose purpose was to control “bimbo eruptions.” If only we had known then what Bill had in store for us.

Barack Obama had a similar problem in 2008, and his problem is still going viral two years later: “birther eruptions.” Obama had a smear team in 2008 seeking to destroy the reputation of anyone who questioned his birth.

As the man who has been called the “King of the Birthers” by the hard left, although I am not a birther, yet, I am amazed at how “Obama the Great Persuader” has been unable persuade the American people he is even an American.

The latest birther eruption occurred this weekend and found the Mayor of Champaign, Illinois on the home page of the Chicago Tribune expressing doubts about Obama’s origins:

Mainstream media ignored the “birther” issue in 2008 and they continue to ignore the issue today at their own peril. Fox news’ Bill O’Reilly said Friday night birther eruptions help Obama. Obama thinks they help him. I don’t think so. Obama and O’Reilly are wrong.

Let me explain.

First, why am I called the “King of the Birthers?” by the hard left? Six years ago I began to question Barack Obama’s life story. In 2004 I called him a liar. I am Chicago tough, and I know a Chicago liar when I see one. Obama is a Chicago liar. From ear-to-ear. Later, I kept investigating, kept writing and kept asking the hard questions. In response, Obama created a "smear squad" to attack me. I unleashed an international search for Obama’s real roots. I was the first to disclose Obama was born with dual nationality, a fact he initially denied and later admitted.

I filed the first (and to date, only) lawsuit in the Hawai’i courts seeking to obtain access to the original, typewritten 1961 copy of his alleged birth in Hawai’i.

Second, why am I not a birther? Yet. Despite being called King Birther, I have never claimed Obama was born in Kenya. In fact, I have not found any credible evidence to sustain that argument. The term “birther” is a label invented by the mainstream media to smear anyone who is troubled by the opacity of Obama’s family history and particularly who believes Obama was born in Kenya.

All of us have to produce birth records regularly, to obtain a passport, to obtain identification, and for many other mundane purposes. Obama has never released his original typewritten 1961 certificate. In the words of the Mayor of Champaign, "What is he hiding?" Instead, in typically "Obamaesque" fashion, Obama has made a game of his original birth certificate, claiming he released it while not actually doing so. The “certificate” Obama released was not a copy of the 1961 document; it was merely a laser printout from a state database. The 1961 certificate contains a great deal more detailed information that Obama does not want us to see.

Hawai’i officials have sought to bolster Obama politically, while refusing to make his original records available for inspection.

That is why I am pressing my lawsuit in Hawai’i to open state archives. I am also threatening the state with a second lawsuit this month for covering up state records (go to my blogs below to read a detailed history of my efforts in earlier columns).

Third, what have I said to Obama over the past six years? I warned Obama that by concealing the original 1961 certificate he was destroying his own credibility with the American people. Obama and his supporters have claimed he was born in at least two different hospitals, but he refuses to authorize release of the hospital records to confirm which one. Why? More mystery. More word games. More doubts.

In 2009 I told Obama the “birther’ controversy would not go away, and it would come back to haunt him when he was at his weakest politically. Not a bad prediction, huh? Despite the fact that the hard left tries to make birthers into a joke on late-night TV, public doubts about Obama’s origins will not go away; they are persistent. They are increasing. And, quietly, they are devastating Obama.

Let me state my view in no uncertain terms: the birth concerns of the American people are completely legitimate. The Mayor of Champaign is right. If Obama won’t produce his original birth certificate, what is he hiding?

Mr. Obama is a man of mystery in many other ways. He won’t release employment records from the job he held in New York City. He won’t release his college records from Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard law School. Again, what is he hiding?

Bill O'Reilly is correct in one respect. Obama uses the “birthers” to agitate Obama’s political base on the hard left. But O’Reilly misses the larger picture (as do Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and others). Obama is losing the American people, in part because of “birther” questions.

Last summer there was a massive “birther” eruption. This spring, the resistance is again spreading. By the time birther doubts have filtered down to the Mayor of Champaign, Illinois you know the American people have serious concerns.

In the short run, Obama is being Obamaesque. In the long run, Obama is engaging in the same kind of egomaniacal, self-destructive behavior that ultimately sabotaged Bill Clinton. Obama is lying to the American people.

Fourth, what is Obama afraid of? Obama is concerned that while he may be an American citizen (which I believe he is, but most birthers do not) he may not be a “natural born” American citizen eligible to serve as president. "Natural born" is a highly technical term that specifically applies only to the office of president, not to senators and representatives. Who was it that said “words have meaning?” Why none other that the fake “law perfesser” Barack Obama himself. Words do have meaning.

The “natural born citizen” requirement adopted in 1789 meant you could be physically born in the United States and still not be a “natural born” citizen eligible to be president if both of your parents were not citizens as well. Obviously, the Constitutional Convention imposed a higher and more technical requirement for eligibility to serve as president. There is serious doubt Obama satisfies that condition.

I am on both sides of the natural born issue (watch for our new video coming in a few days explaining this issue). If Barack Obama’s father is Barack Obama, as most people accept, then Barrack Obama is almost certainly not a natural born citizen as contemplated by the United States Constitution. He is indeed what many people call him: ineligible to be president. He is a usurper.

On the other hand, I believe Barack Obama's father was indeed an American citizen, Frank Marshall Davis, of Honolulu. If I am correct, Obama is “natural born.” It has always been my belief that the “Kenyan” claims for his family are a complete fantasy that were orchestrated by Obama’s mother to shield his illegitimate birth. Interestingly, Obama has never denied my Frank Marshall Davis claims.

Finally, whether Barack Obama or Frank Davis is the presidential daddy, the president was born “illegitimate,” as they called it in 1961, or “nonmarital,” as we say today. Both “fathers” were already married, another fact that the hard left tries to conceal. Barack Obama’s illegitimacy is what gnaws at his psyche and makes him such an increasingly pretentious and obnoxious human being in the eyes of the American people. No amount of pomp and power will ever satisfy his eternally struggling ego.

Although Obama has done everything he can to destroy me personally and politically, I consider that a compliment. For some mysterious reason, I am the only person outside his immediate family who seems to have stumbled on the deep, emotional truth about his origins. Barack Obama’s “family secrets.” Obama hopes that by abusing and harassing me, he can rid himself of his demons. But the demons endure. They always will.

Barack Obama’s half brother, born of Obama’s “father’s" second "wife" in the United States, has produced a “novel” of extreme cruelty and abuse by his father.

Unfortunately, Obama won’t admit the truth about his parentage. He continues to harbor an extreme sense of personal shame. I explored Obama’s inner conflicts in columns which became my first book, “Obama: The Man Behind The Mask.”

The more I write the truth about Obama, and pursue a lawsuit in Hawai’i seeking release of his original, typewritten 1961 birth certificate, the more angry and anguished Obama becomes.

But while I am Obama’s leading political opponent in the current election cycle, and he fears my presence sitting in his former U. S. Senate seat from Illinois more than any other candidate, I have never been a personal opponent of the man.

If you read an Internet interview concerning my views, you will probably agree I share Obama’s sense of frustration at his origins.

Now that Obama is the president, it is Obama's inner demons that make him so reluctant to lead, so obsessed with “show” because his entire life has been a “show,” designed to deflect the truth about himself from himself, as well as from the public.

What are the facts about Barack Obama? What are his “family secrets?”

First, the man generally considered Barack Obama’s “father,”Barack Hussein Obama, Senior” is probably not Obama’s biological father. I want to label and underscore this paragraph as my opinion; I have not yet established the underlying DNA evidence to confirm my beliefs. I think Obama will some day admit to the world that, yes, Frank Marshall Davis was his biological father.

Obama’s book “Dreams From My Father” was not based on “dreams” about or from his “father” because Barack Obama was never a genuine father figure.

On the contrary, Barack Obama, Sr. was a lecher who moved from woman to woman, fathering children whose legal status remains questionable to this day. Obama, Sr. is supposed to have fathered eight children by four women.

Whether Frank Marshall Davis was the biological father, or not, “Frank” became Obama’s real father. Frank was the man to whom Obama has dedicated his life. Frank was a communist. Well, you get the picture.

Obama came to Chicago, where Frank was a close friend of journalist Vernon Jarrett and Louie Farrakhan, and other Black leaders. Frank’s “shining city on a hill" was Chicago, not Honolulu. It was to Chicago that Obama came to achieve fame and fortune, and it was Frank’s network of old friends who advanced Barack’s career.

In Hawaiian we would say that at a minimum Frank was “ohana.” “Ohana” is a concept that recognizes the impact and influence of “a village” on a person’s development. Ohana is extended family, including persons who are not necessarily blood relatives.

Even if you disagree with me that Frank Marshall Davis is the biological father (no one can disagree that Frank was Obama’s spiritual father), things get worse, not better, when we turn back to Barack, Sr.

The reality of Obama’s birth explains his enduring shame and frustration.

Obama was illegitimate or, as we say today, “nonmarital.” In 1961, the term was “illegitimate.” That was the word Barack eventually harbored inside himself. No doubt children at Punahou in Honolulu teased young Barack about his origins. Those painful memories endure.

Why was Obama illegitimate? Because his “father,” Barack Sr. was married to another women.

Barack, Sr. was married to Kezia Obama, with whom Obama had already fathered children before he left Kenya for Honolulu and Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Obama’s publicity agents and supporters pretend that Barack, Sr.’s first marriage was a Kenyan “tribal” marriage and thus not entitled to respect and recognition in the United States. That is simply untrue as a matter of U. S. law.

Barack Obama, Sr. was married in Kenya at a time when British law prevailed. When Kenya became a free nation in 1963, the new government recognized the prior efficacy of British law. British law respected and acknowledged tribal marriages. So while Obama tries to minimize or ignore his “father’s” “tribal" marriage, under British law the Kenyan marriage of Barack, Sr. was entirely legal and controlled his matrimonial status in Hawai'i. He had never divorced Kezia.

When Barack, Sr. entered into, or may have purported to enter into, a “marriage” in Honolulu with Ann Dunham, he was a bigamist. Barack Obama was the product of a bigamous relationship.

Under Hawaiian law, there is no way “Obama” could have been born an “Obama” if his mother was never legally married to his father. That may be one of the secrets Obama is hiding on his original 1961 birth certificate. Only the document itself will speak the truth.

As a lawyer, if not a great one, Obama knows and understands these basic legal principles. American law recognizes and generally gives “full faith and credit” to British law and marriages in U. S. Courts. A married man in Britain or Kenya could not have come to the United States in 1960 and lawfully claimed he was “unmarried.”

In defense of Obama's mother, she was 18 years old and probably too unsophisticated to understand what was happening to her.

So the Obama marriage in Honolulu, whether papered over with bogus documents and licenses or not, was a bigamous relationship in which Obama’s mother Ann Dunham never legally became Mrs. Barack Obama.

Under Hawai’i law, Obama is illegitimate, because his parents were never legally married, see Tagupa v. Tagupa, 108 Hawai’i 459, 121 P.3rd 924, 926 (Hawai’i ICA 2005). The relationship was void.

Obama’s half-brother may be in the same limbo. His mother also tried to ignore the “tribal” marriage; Barack, Sr. remained loyal to Kezia until his death. We can’t say for sure whether the first marriage was ever legally dissolved.

When stripped of all of his evasions and prevarications, the truth about Barack Obama is painfully straightforward, and painful nonetheless. Obama has lived with these inner demons all of his life, and they are the key to unlocking his personality.

And so, you can pick your theory. Either, as I believe, Frank Marshall Davis is Barack Obama’s father. The fact that Frank’s “secret” was never disclosed to his son while Frank was alive is an immense burden on Barack’s soul. Or, Barack Obama’s father was a bigamist, his mother was never legally married and he was born illegitimate. Under either approach, Obama was born into pain, and has endured that pain his entire life.

Obama has desperately attempted to shield the truth from the public, although the reality is that most Americans wouldn’t care about Obama’s unfortunate origins. We are too big a nation to blame a baby for the acts of his parents. But, still, Obama will not allow the truth about him to escape. He cannot release the inner pain. Obama cannot accept his inner shame.

And in the meantime, Obama unleashes his operatives to smear and harass my campaign for the U. S. Senate. Will Obama succeed in defeating me? Republicans will decide.

That is also why in October, 2008, as I was walking down a Honolulu street working on an interview with his grandmother, I learned Obama was on his way to Hawai’I to join me. Coincidence? You be the judge.

I had unlocked the family secrets of Barack Obama in Honolulu . And he will never forgive me for knowing the truth and telling the truth about him.

Of course, that is why the dynamics of a “U. S. Senator Andy Martin” in Washington provides such explosive potential for a dramatic confrontation between truth and fantasy in Obamaland.

I will always be deeply sympathetic to Barack Obama’s plight as a human being. But I lead the efforts to defeat and destroy his political programs and anti-American agenda.

Unless I end up like Saint Thomas à Becket.

(CHICAGO)(August 5, 2009) Two people are responsible for the “birther” movement: Barack Obama and me. As the dogged investigator, over the past five years I have researched Barack Obama’s family history, and written columns and a bestselling book raising questions about Obama’s family. I stand by all of my research.

Barack Obama, in turn, believes that toying with Americans who question his provenance benefits him. In the short run Obama might profit from the excesses of fringe elements of the birther movement; in the long run Obama is destroying his presidential legacy by playing games with the truth.

The evidence is undisputed that there have been as many imaginary and incendiary conspiracies hatched by left-wing media as there have been by right-wing conspiracy theorists. Neither the right not the left has a monopoly on crackpotism where Obama is concerned. I do not fall into either camp. From Day One my goal has been to seek the truth and find the facts; nothing more, nothing less.

In mid-August, 2008 I received a call from a Pennsylvania attorney named Philip Berg. Berg said he was planning to file a lawsuit questioning Obama’s legitimacy and he sought my advice as the recognized expert on Obama. I agreed to review his draft document.

I look a look at Berg’s complaint and realized immediately his claims were gibberish. I told Berg he should not file his lawsuit because it would be quickly dismissed and would actually help, not hurt, Obama. (That is exactly what happened.)

Berg spoke to me in terms that demonstrated psychiatric ideation and I had no further contact with him. Berg apparently made a small fortune collecting money from people who were desperate to believe anything negative about Barack Obama. Eventually I reported him as a fraud artist.

In mid-October 2008 I landed in Honolulu to investigate Obama's past and began to assemble a team. We were the first investigators to look into Obama’s past. The meathead media had completely ignored Hawai’i. (I am happy to report a film we produced in is final production, finally, and will be available shortly. Patience please. We do not have the financial resources of a movie studio.)

While in Hawai’i, I filed a lawsuit in the local state courts seeking access to Barack Obama’s original, typewritten 1961 birth certificate. Obama was promoting a computerized, laser-printed document as a “copy” of his original certificate. Obviously the modern database output was not a “copy” anything but the limited information in the database itself.

Although a trial judge disagreed with my interpretation of Hawai’i law, my case is still pending both in the trial court and in the Hawai’i Supreme Court. (Litigation ain't beanbag, and confusion and delay are staples of every court system everywhere.)

I have every expectation that my legal claims are meritorious.
My lawsuit simply claims that scholars and archivists have a right to see original Hawai’i documents. No one who writes a book or does historical research does so without seeking access to the original material. Two thousand years after Jesus, people still search for original "scrolls" and texts to analyze. Before computers, we used to call these “ribbon” copies because they were typed on a typewriter (or tablet).

On February 8, 2007 I also raised the question of Obama’s citizenship at birth. Obama was born a dual national because his father was British. Obama initially denied and subsequently admitted I was correct.

Throughout all of the attacks that Obama and his media darlings directed at me, I stood fast because my fundamental factual claims were correct. Indeed during the 2008 campaign, I was the only “opponent” that Obama attacked in national television, because I was the only writer who was raising serious questions about him and presenting them in a coherent manner on television (click on Part Two):

In 2009, I am still working on the Hawai’i birth certificate lawsuit, and Obama is still concealing access to the original “ribbon” copy. Likewise he has placed a cordon sanitaire around his college materials.

In April, 2009 I convened a National Conference on Barack Obama’s Missing Birth Certificate and college records. I also believe that Obama is being disingenuous about his college files because he is concealing something. What he is concealing, I am not sure. Why won’t he make his records public? He is sitting in the White House as our president, and his college activity is a natural target of scholarly research and popular authors.

Enter Orly Taitz.

I am not quite sure when Orly Taitz popped up. Ms. Taitz was born in the former Soviet Union, now Moldova, and became a dentist in Israel. She eventually ended up in California (doesn't everyone?) where she obtained a “law degree.”

California is one of a handful of states that still permits unapproved “law schools” to confer law degrees. These institutions are a relic of the past when most lawyers interned with practicing lawyers and “read” law in law offices. Despite the fact that the “law” has become incredibly complex, California persists in licensing unqualified and incompetent lawyers such as Taitz.

One of Taitz’ first crusades was the allegation that the U. S. Supreme Court was conspiring to deny “birthers” review of their claims. (That argument was also a profitable cash machine for Phil Berg.) As I pointed out, most of the birther lawsuits were untimely, poorly drafted and lacked adequate legal “standing” to proceed. Ironically, birther “conservatives” believed that “conservative judges” on the Supreme Court would attack Obama. The reality is that a judge's loyalty is first to his or her institution, not to a “cause.”

Taitz continued to spin conspiracy theories.

Recently she made claims about a California lawsuit she had filed. For the first time, I actually downloaded one of her legal documents. The arguments she made were gibberish. Her writing was incoherent and her presentation was nonsense. Taitz has no experience as a federal litigator. Her legal education was clearly deficient. Other than obtaining a degree” from a Cracker Jack box “law school,” she has no relevant legal experience. Yet she was wading into the most complex legal questions imaginable. Taitz substituted conspiracies for her lack of knowledge or competence.

I have been biting my lip because it looks bad for me, as someone who has my own lawsuit pending, to denigrate another lawyer’s filing. But in the past several weeks, Taitz has become intoxicated with her own nonsense. Last month she issued a release that said a federal judge had agreed to hear her case. The judge had “agreed" to no such thing. He had merely agreed to proceed with motions. Was Taitz the victim of her broken English? Or was she misleading the public? Or was she a nut? You be the judge. Her claims about the court’s action were incorrect.

The leftist media love Taitz. She is increasingly acting like a crackpot; what's not to like for the leftist media, portraying her as the “Queen” of a "crackpot movement." What could better serve the left than a right-wing nut with an accent, spinning out-of-control conspiracy theories and becoming increasingly oppositional and paranoid.

It is time for the “father” of the birther movement, me, to exercise some parental discipline. Orly is being grounded.

The Orly Taitz circus must be shut down.

First, Taitz is professionally incompetent. She is a dentist with a questionable law degree. She knows as much about law as I know about filling teeth (because she was trained in Israel, I assume she is an excellent dentist; but who knows?).

Second, most of Taitz’ conspiracy claims originate in disinformation. I don’t know who creates all of this disinformation, but I have a strong suspicion.

Third, Taitz exercises no professional discipline, and manifests professional incompetence, by filing claims and documents with courts when these claims and documents have no arguable validity.

Finally, Taitz has now turned on the media that are using her; she accuses people such as David Shuster (who is a distant relative of some sort of a close friend of mine) of being proto-Nazis. Enough. Taitz’ latest performance on MSNBC is an embarrassment to birthers, perhaps even to lawyers, since she is a licensed California attorney.

Here are the unavoidable factual issues, and the legal basis for the birther movement to move forward if it is able to disentangle itself from Orly Taitz and her crackpot behavior.

First, although I have not physically seen the "Kenyan birth certificate” (“KBC”) (and birthers have attacked me for "commenting without seeing"), the likelihood is that the KBC is a forgery. Who forged that document is a legitimate avenue of inquiry. Ironically, by inadvertently filing her forged document in a federal court, Taitz created FBI jurisdiction for a criminal investigation of the KBC.

Second, Obama is in fact concealing his college records from Occidental College, Columbia College and Harvard law school. I received an e-mail a few hours ago claiming the Occidental records had been released; those “records” were another hoax.

Third, Obama is still concealing his original, typewritten 1961 Hawai’i birth certificate and everyone—even meathead media-agree and admit that the original document has on it information which is not contained on the laser-printed database output Obama offers as a “copy” of the typewritten 1961 original. As a published author who is writing a second book on Obama, I am pursuing access to that historical record in the Hawai’i courts.

The Conference was recorded and the expectation was that it conference would be on the internet in short order. The tape appears to have been stolen, and I am seeking to recover it. I apologize for this confusion. I believed the conference provided a very valuable oversight of all of the issues which trouble birthers. I apologize for trusting someone who is apparently dishonest to edit the tape. Legal action is imminent.

I would like to convene a second birth certificate conference (see http://nationalconferenceonobama.blogspot.com/ for background on the original) and I am going to start raising funds to cover the cost of the conference. This time I will maintain custody of the tapes myself, so they are not stolen. Because of my political campaign, the conference probably will not be convened until December.

The media have concocted the term “birther” to disparage Americans who have reasonable doubts about Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president.

I originally scoffed at the “natural born citizen” language of the Constitution, and I stated at the April conference that I do not believe a modern court would bar Obama from eligibility. But there is language in old case law from which an argument can be crafted that Obama in fact does not meet the constitutional test. His father was indisputably not an American citizen.

There is a great deal more gibberish out there about Obama, and many more seeds of doubt about who he really is. We are witnessing a historical dance of death. Obama has created these gaps both by his lies and distortions, and by his concealment. Despite media ridicule, public concern is not going to go away. The “birther movement,” is not going to disappear because at its core it presents legitimate doubts about who Barack Obama really is.

In fact, as soon as the crackpots such as Taitz are silenced, the birther movement will gain renewed energy. Why is Obama hiding his college files? Why is he obstructing access to his 1961 Hawai’i original? Who paid for Obama’s law school? Was it Khalid Al-Mansour? These are completely legitimate questions that are being obscured by Taitz' histrionics. There are many more legitimate questions that scholars and authors can and will continue to ask about Obama in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.

Orly Taitz has become an impediment to reasoned discussion concerning the gaps in Obama’s family and personal history. It is time for responsible birthers to shut down her circus before she does further damage to the legitimate cause of historical inquiry. It is time for Orly to go back to filling teeth instead of claiming she is tryign to fill in the blanks in Obama’s resume. She is not professionally competent to do so.

Orly Taitz has become the left-wing media's favorite birther for a reason. Taitz is a nut case even if the investigation she claims to be pursuing has limited but legitimate grounds to proceed.

Footnote: in what must be some in of perverse justice, Taitz and Berg are suing each other. I do my own independent research for a reason. I can keep my distance from the Taitz’ and Bergs out there.
